Dear architects and designers, first of all thanks for reading. I am buying this two floors house and I would like to refurbish it in a stylish way so I need your help! What I need is cool design and ideas for the style and the furnitures. Everything I write is a suggestion, but I am more than open to your ideas. The house needs complete refurbishment. From the images I uploaded I am trying to give you an idea of the current state and of what I have in mind. I would like a stylish but cost-effective project which does not require overly complex works (my workers are not extremely skilled). Current state: the first two pictures give you the perspective of the living room/kitchen while the other two are the bathroom and smaller bedroom. As you can see all the rooms are not that big so it needs careful space planning. What I have in mind: – I would like a “big” living room with open plan kitchen, so I would like to reduce the space of the kitchen and increase the space of the living room. Please note that water is on one side, and gas is on the other side of the wall. So the kitchen has to remain two-sided. – I was thinking to reinstate a normal stair and get rid of the spiral stair which is difficult to climb. This will slightly reduce the space of the smaller bedroom as well as of the living room. However, I was thinking to put a concrete stair and include a TV and maybe book shelves inside the stairs (please be careful with the stability if you go for this). Yet, this is not a must, if you have a cool idea and if you think that this stair can stay, please propose it. – I would like to take down the wall in front of the entrance door so that with a glass door I can make the room more lightly. – the plan should stay more or less the same as I believe there is not much space to change. General things: – I like grey (dark or light) walls and brown (possibly dark, e.g. jatoba) wooden floor. However, please feel free to suggest alternatives. – I like bricks and industrial design but this is not a must Furnitures: – I am open to suggestions but please do not look for Ikea only as I would like something original. Everything has to be available in London or via delivery within a short time frame. I like a touch of modern and industrial. So glass, steel, leather couch, big old style frames, cool paintings/pictures etc. Budget: – flooring: max 50£ per sqm – bathroom furnitures: approx 1500£ – lighting: na – furnitures: have no clear idea but I would say 5000£ (this is not strict) – other works: it depends but there are no clear budgets, let’s say that for all the works (including labour) I would like to be below £20/25k.
