Briefing

Dear designers, for this co-working I’d like an informal and minimal design, I like London-style design, New York lofts and north-European architecture.

The space is in Padua (San Carlo neighbourhood), on the fourth floor of a complex that hosts a high school. The owner of the building would like to transform this space in a big co-working of about 1.000 sqm. As you can see in the attached floorplan the space is L-shaped. We would like to realize a working space for young people, the building is well-connected with the city centre - there is a tram line nearby – and in the complex there is also a huge parking lot.

Unfortunately, the neighbourhood is in a state of degradation, the price of the houses has decreased in recent years as well as the quality of life and there is a severe problem of social integration among the many immigrants that live here.

We are working with the town hall to relaunch San Carlo neighbourhood and to encourage social integration among the inhabitants and the creation of a co-working space for professionals and students is part of this project. We would like our space to be fit for single students and professionals but also for temporary offices.

We would like the spaces to be aesthetically attractive, accessible, informal and multicultural were people of different ethnicities could share ideas and point of view. We would like to create a loft-like design, with simple materials such as raw wood, steel, electrical systems exposed or hidden – we prefer not to insert the system into the walls when so that they can’t affect any possible demolition or reconstruction of the building.

We will need a few meeting-rooms for 4,8 and 12 people and we will also need a few separate office-spaces with main room and reception.
We will provide our clients with the best technologies, high-speed wi-fi, printers, audio visual, security access 24/7, coffee corner, eat corner, soundproofing etc. any ideas to make this space unique will be appreciated!

Designa informale, minimal stile London, loft New York, nord Europa. L'immobile si trova in Padova in quartiere San Carlo, è una parte di un complesso ora adibito a scuola superiore. La proprietà dell'immobile sta decidendo se trasformare questo spazio, al quarto ed ultimo piano, in un co working di circa 1.000 mq. Dalla pianta allegata, di forma a "L" si vorrebbe realizzare uno spazio lavorativo per una clientela 'giovane' che possa sfruttare la potenzialità di collegamento viario con la città di Padova (esiste una linea del Tram nelle immediate vicinanze) ed il parcheggio capiente del complesso.
Il degrado del quartiere, legato al mancato inserimento in un contesto sociale di extracomunitari, ne ha provocato un lento ed inesorabile declino sul valore immobiliare e sulle condizioni di vivibilità del quartiere stesso.
Con un sostengno 'politico' da parte dell'attuale amministrazione della città, per il rilancio di questo quartiere verso una maggiore integrazione con i residenti e la creazione di uno spazio di co-working accessibile a profesionisti e studenti, si vuole dare un impulso di 'possibilità di integrazione' sociale.
L'idea di uno spazio frubile sia da professionisti che da singoli studenti, avventori e possibili uffici temporanei è una motivazione per la creazione di un investimento di questo tipo.
Si vuole dare risalto alla caratteristica di spazi estetici, fruibili, informali, aperti alla multietnicità, di aggregazione e di condivisioni di idee e etnie diverse. L'utilizzo di materiali poveri, quali legni grezzi, acciaio, impianti elettrici ed elettronici a vista e/o intelligenti per ubicazione, che non incidano nelle opere di demolizione e ricostruzione dell'edificio, saranno elementi di valutazione positiva da parte degli investitori.
Un numero di salette meeting per 4,8,12 persone dovrà essere inerito nel contesto, come pure un minimo di uffici singoli che possa avere un dirigente con propria segreteria.
Tutte le migliori tecnologie informatiche saranno disponibili, alta velocità wify, rete, printing, audiovisual, security access 7/24, coffe corner, eat corner, insonorizzazioni e qualsiasi soluzione che possa rendere unico questo intervento saranno ben accetti.
