I’ve just bought this nice stone house on the ground floor of a building in the city centre of Cagliari. I’d like to transform it in a charming apartment to rent or to use as a guest house (B&B), because Cagliari is a very touristic town. I’d like the apartment to have at least two rooms and I’d like it to be like an ancient inn like the one that was in the apartment 70 years ago.
As you can see in the pictures, at the moment the flat is an abandoned warehouse. It will be cleaned and all old plaster on the wall and flooring will soon be gone. We want to highlight the stone walls, the bricks on the vault and the juniper beams that are on the anterior part of the room. I’d also like to bring to surface the original walling, if it is in good condition. It is probable that we will find an old tank underneath the flooring. We’re going to empty it but we’d like it to remain visible, except it is big enough to transform it into a cellar.
The systems (electrical, water and so on) Have been removed, so there’s no restriction to the disposition of the furniture in any way. I want to remove the current raised bathroom (where there’s a window) at the end of the property to build a bigger one.
We are also open to alternatives idea other than a B&B, such as a shop or a multifunctional space or a café or anything that you think will better match the characteristics of the room. It’s a blank book. I don’t have any furniture that I need to use: I can either purchase new furniture or use some vintage furniture.
