I'm uploading project that showcases mix of your desires and my vision of best exploitation of this space.
The goal was to provide wideness that spreads all across the room and connects segments of individually given potentials such as windows view, fire place. Therefore the entire orientation is rotated in order to direct view towards the outside, yet special corner provides ambient point around the fire place. This way fire place becomes significant part of the room, not just heating object in the corner. The arrangement of the room makes this area central point of the space, yet the overall design draws it into the main seating area.
Created ambient allows classic design to prevail in its details and simplicity, but glimpse of different epochs, like modern, even Art Deco, given in furniture pieces brings in visual dynamic and specific style of mixing diverse elements into one whole. Of course, taken into consideration the color of sofas, wall design choice was made with intention to bring in some light and warmth, rather than just create the contrast.
Special attention is also given to lights. Regarding the fact that you use this space for different purposes, main intention is to provide lights that support and enrich the atmosphere created. Therefore, room contains strong central light above the seating zone, peripheral ceiling lights that enlighten paintings and sculptures, and ambient wall lights adequate for evenings reserved for listening to music.
