The Cozy home hamburg project was a challenge, trying to develop the peculiarities of the building as best as possible, thus arriving at a final result of architectural quality.
The first point I developed was the possibility of maintaining as much of the fabricated layout as possible. So both at the structural and plant level no displacements or additions are made, this with the aim of containing the total cost of the project. So starting from this arrangement it was decided to develop in the basement a gymnasium and wellness area, technical room and a large storage room for the house.
The choice to place the gym and wellness area at this level stems from a factor of privacy and inter-floor height.
On the ground floor is the bright living area that includes living, dining and open kitchen. On this floor I decided to include a very flexible area, suitable for any occasion. The guest area can be open with the living room to have a single environment or if necessary it can be closed for privacy. it is so suitable for private or shared use according to the needs. it is an area that is independent if necessary, in fact it has a bathroom and the possibility of inserting a small kitchen.
The living room is very bright, I decided in fact to open the attic thus having a double height, necessary for the entry of more light and feeling of a larger environment. On the double height there will be able to be plants and greenery, a real garden that overlooks from the upper floor to the living room.
The second floor is dedicated to the sleeping area, we have an independent bathroom and one inside the master bedroom, which also includes a walk-in closet. The top floor is dedicated to work, it is a very flexible area and can be used in different ways, the presence of a bathroom makes the area independent.
The project wants to best optimize the layout of the building and contain the costs of demolition-reconstruction as well as structure and facilities. Thus importance is given to the interior design, which wants to be simple, cozy and bright. The presence of glass windows and double height allows for a very large and bright environment, the management of space makes the house very flexible in terms of both functions and furnishings.
