For the “Rustic Semi-detached House” project I have distributed the interior spaces in such a way that it looks orderly, functional and I have managed to incorporate all the requirements made by the owner. Both the spaces that he wanted the apartment to have and the style where everything had to be covered in wood.
The ground floor is an apartment with a central space made up of a living room, dining room and kitchen.
The bedroom has enough space to place a double bed and an auxiliary chair with a small table to read a book or place a laptop.
The bedroom has a dressing room and a large enough bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink and bidet.
I have completely renovated the first floor, it is very different from the proposal that the owner previously had. Where the bedroom was there is now a living room with a dining room next to it. Near the dining room is the kitchen.
The bedroom is quite large and comfortable. It has a large bathroom with shower, sink, toilet, bidet and tub.
In the living room there is a staircase that leads to a mezzanine, where you can place a double bed.
In the owner's previous proposal there was a circulation that connected and communicated with the house behind. I have proposed a new, much more functional circulation, I have placed it near the living room. This allows the interior space to be better distributed, making it more functional and spacious.
With the proposal that I have proposed you can access the balcony, something that in the plans provided in the competition could only be accessed through the bathroom.
All interior spaces are well lit and ventilated.
One of the changes that must be made to be able to build the mezzanine is to move the roof tensioner one meter to the right, so that it does not interfere with the staircase. The other one remains in its original place.
Something important is that the mezzanine is located above the kitchen and the bathroom, spaces that do not need much height. The living room will have double height, as will the bedroom. In these spaces you can see the wooden structure of the roof.
