The goal of this design was to maintain practicality of space usage, making use of an existing good home layout. The project aim is to develop a layout plan that valorizes the actual space, without changing drastically the existing functions. For this reason every main functions are kept in the same position as before, so that it is more simple for the plumbing system. The flats' floor plan is simle, useful and easy to implement. Most design decisions were made in order to maximize movement flow and visual flow between kitchen, dining and living. However, just as there are continuities, there are also separations, and this was treated with carefully selected materials that give warmth and life to the spaces. As these are social spaces, they are inherently and intimately connected at all times. The image of the apartment becomes elegant by placing wooden floor and using white wallpaper and grey, brown, beige furniture. In a large space as the living room is, I tried to create different areas depending of the different uses, but not completely closing them. This solution is perfect for a family. The choice of furniture is geared towards Scandinavian design , with some "modern classics" and informal objects. The results are comfortable and subservient spaces.
