Description

Dual House

We think this house has two faces. To the exterior it is an introspective architecture, you cannot see any window. The volumes, the planes, it will be almost as a sculpture, beautiful and quiet. Then the situation changes, in the interior, you will have a house full of light, full of color, full of life!

The distribution of the house begins with the strategical position of the pool. In this scheme, the house is disposed in C shape around the pool with all the public spaces on the west side and the private spaces in the east side. We made this distribution so you can have FLEXIBILITY. If you want to keep, the bedrooms on a private situation you only need to close one door and you will have two separate houses, on the other hand, if you want to make a living around the pool you only need to open the façade on the master bedroom and you will have a unified space.

The kitchen and the service area are located on the western side of the house to have a direct connection with the public spaces of the house and allow having an independent entrance. The living and dining room are located alongside the pool with a double crystal façade so you can open it all and have a unique space giving you the chance to make a living around the pool. I assure you this will be a FANTASTIC space.

In this house, we are making great architecture, the materials; the relation of the spaces will make it a great place to spend your days.

A beautiful colored stair and a space full of light will make you think you are in a museum seeing a sculpture, but in fact, you are heading to the first floor.

This first floor is very simple. On a single volume with all the bedrooms heading east, we made a linear distribution full of light and simplicity. You can see that the views for all the bedrooms will be green. In the first place, we have two bedrooms with a walking closet and a shared bathroom (we can divide it into two smaller bathrooms without problem). Then we have the master bedroom, this space has two walking closets and an independent bathroom. The bedroom has space for a king-size bed and a reading spot where you can have a chaise lounge.

The total measures of the house are:
Ground floor: 135 sqm
First Floor: 80 sqm

Total : 215 sqm

STRUCTURE

The structure is divided into two different systems.
On the eastern side of the house, we will have a masonry/concrete structure, solved with structural walls.

I recommend to overcalculate this structure so if one day you want to grow bigger it will be very easy to do so.
I think it will prove to be cost-effective in the future.

On the western side, the best option would be a steel structure, this will make times in construction shrink and
a lighter more open structure.
Another option (not presented on images) could be a simple masonry concrete with structural walls, changing the columns
for walls, it will affect the "flying" volume but I´m sure it's possible to keep the openness in the public area.

The garden its an open space so the kids can play all around, it will be a great football field!
The position of the trees it's strategic to stop the cold wind in the winter but let the south orientation free to warm the house.

We put some bioclimatic recommendations and strategies for your house, for this or any other proposal you should take them into consideration to improve your energy consumption and indoor comfort around the year.
