Dear Client,
I hope I've managed to meet all your needs and expectations in my proposal.
My aim was to make the space as open and "airy" as possible since it's a very small space that contains three functions. That being said, I found it very important not to give priority to any of the functions while compromising another.
To make better use of the overall space, I've moved the bedroom door. This change enables the use of the little space framed by the column on one side and the wall on the other. It enables you to have the lounge and dining space equally functional. On the other hand, in the bedroom, you also gain some space.
***bedroom (not part of the brief)
In the bedroom, the current door position uses the space by the door as a mini corridor which is not very well used. With the change of door position, you gain this space for either an L shaped built-in wardrobe, a small workstation, and library, or similar. As the room is large enough you can still have a king-size bed even with the new door position and keep the existing wardrobes without needing to change any of your furniture.
The kitchen is kept in the original position and is equipped with a full-size fridge, cooking hob, oven, sink, and cupboard space. As you mentioned you would love to have more work surface, which is very difficult not to clutter the space and make it difficult to use; I would recommend either making the cooking hob half the size with 2 cooktops instead of 4 (which would give you little but significant space), putting a reinforced drawer as the top drawer by the window (have a shelf in the drawer for extra work surface area if needed - available in IKEA and fits the kitchen), or as a third option having a foldable table hung by the fridge towards the entrance hall and opened when needed).
In the renders you'll find tow options in color. Both are suitable and the decision is left up to your preferance.
The dining area is visually separated from the lounge with wooden panels to give both areas their little space in the room and make them more intimate. The dining area contains an extendable table that can host 4 people and the two extra chairs are hung on the wall by the balcony until needed.
The lounge area contains a 2-3 seat sofa, coffee table, tv stand with bookshelves, and tv. The lounge is quite small but cozy and functional.
In the entrance hall, I've placed a tall cupboard for your cleaning supplies, hoover, brooms, etc. as well as a small shelf for open storage solution of small items.
If you have any doubts regarding the proposal if you decide to choose it, feel free to contact me.
