Description

House in Garda

The starting point of this design was to identify those unique elements that characterize the natural environment where the house is inserted and the material history that the house itself tells.

Looking for a common language between both, this new contemporary lake house design arises, which seeks to reinterpret the classic materiality from a modern and ecological point of view, providing a modern and cozy atmosphere.

From the functional point of view, we sought to emphasize the "social" character of the house by reinforcing those well-defined places and incorporating new entertainment and relaxation centers.

The objective of this search is to offer intelligent solutions that provide optimal comfort in every season of the year.

In order to avoid major construction works, we sought to respect the existing spaces by improving the flow between them and their function.

Proposed materiality:

Microcement or liquid porcelain tile floors "In situ" capable of being installed on existing substrates and with a minimum thickness that avoids future damage to existing carpentry.

Terrazo countertops in kitchens and bathrooms, the main characteristic of this material is its hardness, resistance to humidity, easy and economical maintenance, besides being ecological.
Variants, it can be prefabricated or modeled "in situ".

For the proposed furniture, light walnut wood was used; preferably natural woods or similar with a superior quality.

Glossy surfaces with "copper" finish were implemented in all shapes and materials.

To complete the neutral, light and bright color scheme that the client proposed, textiles, paints and cladding were used according to the Brave Ground™ palette by Dulux chosen as color of the year, capable of "bringing a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit".

Ultimately this proposal is about understanding "The strength we can draw from nature, aligning ourselves with the planet and looking to the future."
