Casa di montagna

This project reimagines a small ground-floor apartment from the late 1980s, with the goal of creating a warm, functional and elegant interior, while preserving the existing layout.

The design approach is based on a careful balance between rustic elements, used sparingly, and a clean contemporary backdrop, resulting in a soft and timeless atmosphere.

In the living area, the main challenge was to optimize every square meter without overwhelming the space. Two layout options are proposed: a more compact solution with a dining counter facing the kitchen, or a more convivial setup centered around an extendable dining table. In both cases, the space is organized around a gas fireplace, conceived as a central and welcoming feature, with its technical elements discreetly integrated.

A suspended ceiling helps define the kitchen area while concealing visible pipes, using removable panels for easy maintenance. The boiler remains in place and is neatly integrated into a custom-made column.

Material choices play a key role in shaping the atmosphere: a light beige stone-effect floor, inspired by travertine, enhances brightness and continuity, while touches of wood and natural textures bring warmth without overwhelming the space.

The bathroom is redesigned in a linear layout, featuring a walk-in shower with a niche and integrated storage. The palette remains simple and natural, with a few stronger elements to introduce character in a subtle way.

In the bedroom, the atmosphere becomes more intimate and enveloping. A custom wood frame around the bed adds structure and recalls a subtle chalet-inspired feel, while a textured headboard wall and concealed lighting create a calm and cozy ambiance.

Overall, the project aims to create a coherent living space where every element is carefully considered, achieving a balance between comfort, aesthetics and simplicity.
