Il progetto coniuga da un lato i desiderata della committenza - spazi aperti, superfici vetrate, luminosità - ma dall'altro non ha perso di vista l'aspetto economico, che indubbiamente inciderà sull'intervento. Per questo motivo in particolare si è deciso di non stravolgere la distribuzione dell'appartamento, al fine di preservare scarichi ed allacci esistenti, limitando al minimo gli interventi sugli impianti. Ciononostante è stato possibile creare un ampio open space per la zona giorno, eliminando la tramezzatura della cucina ed aprendo il living sulla veranda. Quest'ultima, allo stato attuale, risulta essere poco sfruttata, ridotta a mero spazio di ricovero e di disimpegno: nel progetto è stata invece riqualificata ed elevata al grado di giardino di inverno. Nuovi serramenti scorrevoli e vetrati dividono infatti il soggiorno dalla veranda, ma permettono di usufruire di quest'ultima come una vera e propria stanza in più: attrezzata con sedute e fiorirere, diventa il luogo ideale per il relax. La sostituzione degli infissi del soggiorno rende indispensabile nella veranda l'installazione di serramenti più prestanti dal punto di vista del contenimento dei consumi energetici; l'intervento è assolutamente auspicabile, sia nell'ottica del comfort abitativo che in termini di rapporto costi/benefici. Si sottolinea che nel progetto non si è volutamente approfondito l'aspetto estetico e compositivo di questi serramenti, non essendo a conoscenza di un eventuale progetto esistente a livello condominiale per una veranda - tipo.
Il nuovo open space ospita una cucina a U dotata di bancone, che idealmente la divide dalla zona pranzo; qui è stato ipotizzato un tavolo rotondo ma allungabile, a seconda delle esigenze. La zona conversazione è costituita da un divano a tre posti e da una poltrona, fronteggianti una libreria passante molto leggera, condivisa con il piccolo ma indispensabile angolo studio. Per le finiture si è optato a pavimento per un parquet in listoni di legno posato a correre; lo stesso risale parzialmente il muro della cucina, a meglio definirne l'area funzionale. Per lo spazio antistante ai fuochi e al lavello si è invece optato per una resina lucida, molto più efficiente e di facile manutenzione per una zona operativa. Il parquet continua anche nella veranda, a sottolineare la nuova vita di questa stanza. Per le pareti sono stati scelti toni chiari, bianco e corda; di fronte alla cucina è stata suggerita una tappezzeria trompe - l'oeil, che richiama i serramenti verso la veranda e da un'idea di sfondato che percettivamente amplifica gli spazi.
Eliminando il ripostiglio, uno spazio di disimpegno (dove vengono ad esempio collocate lavatrice ed asciugatrice) è stato ricavato nell'antibagno. La particolarità di questa zona filtro è l'essere altamente permeabile, grazie ad un serramento vetrato che riprende quelli verso la veranda; in questo modo tutto l'appartamento ne giova in termini di ariosità. Dal disimpegno si accede alla camera da letto, leggermente ridimensionata rispetto all'originale, ma di dimensioni comunque molto agevoli. Anche in questa stanza è stato posato un parquet a correre, che continua verticalmente anche alle spalle del letto; su tutta la parete della testata è stata inoltre posata una carta da parati a tema "plissè" che, nella sua evidente leggerezza, riesce comunque a caratterizzare la stanza.
Come precedentemente affermato, la necessità di non stravolgere la posizione dei servizi esistenti ha fatto sì che rimanesse il bagno dalle geometrie originarie, vale a dire stretto e lungo. Per ovviare al problema e rendere più agibile lo spazio, è stata posizionata una doccia passante dotata di vetrate scorrevoli da utilizzare nel momento del bisogno. Per le finiture sono state scelti piastrelloni in gres ad effetto cemento, mentre a delineare l'area della doccia delle piastrelline esagonali.
In tutto l'appartamento sono stati previsti controsoffitti (come ad esempio sulla cucina, nel disimpegno e sopra il letto) per l'alloggiamento dei corpi illuminanti; in alternativa è stata predisposta una fascia perimetrale allo stesso scopo.

For this reason in particular, it was decided not to overturn the distribution of the apartment, in order to preserve existing connections and drains, with minimum operating plants. Nevertheless it was possible to create a large open space for the living area, removing the partition wall of the kitchen and living room opening onto the veranda. The latter, at present, appears to be little used, reduced to mere shelter space and disengagement: the project has been redeveloped and instead elevated to the winter garden. New sliding glass doors divide now the living room from the porch, but allow you to make use of it as a real extra room: equipped with seating and potted plants, it becomes the ideal place for relaxation. The replacement of windows in the living room makes it indispensable in the veranda installing better performing windowsfrom the standpoint of reducing energy consumption; the intervention is highly desirable, both from the perspective of home comfort and in terms of cost / benefit ratio. Also it notes that the project did not deliberately deepened the appearance and composition of these windows, not being aware of any existing project to communal level to a veranda - type.
The new open-plan kitchen features a U-shaped with the bar, which ideally divides it from the dining area; here it has been assumed a round table but extendable, depending on the needs. The conversation area is made up of a three-seater sofa and an armchair, facing each a very light loop library, shared with the small but vital work area. To finish it opted for a parquet floor in wooden planks laid to run; the same goes partly on the kitchen wall, to better define the functional area. For the space behind the stove and the sink he has instead opted for a glossy resin, much more efficient and easy to maintain for an operational area. The parquet continues in the veranda, to emphasize the new life of this room. For the walls were chosen light colors, white and rope; in front of the kitchen a tapestry was suggested trompe - l'oeil, which recalls the windows to the verandah and an idea of ​​who smashed perceptually amplifies spaces.
Eliminating the utility room, a hallway space (for example where they are located washer and dryer) is housed nell'antibagno. The special feature of this filter area is being highly permeable, thanks to a window glass to echo those to the porch; in this way the whole apartment it benefits in terms of airiness. From the hallway leads to the bedroom, slightly downsized from the original, but size still very easy. Also in this room you have been laid a parquet to run, which continues vertically behind the bed; on the whole of the cylinder head wall it was also placed a themed wallpaper "pleated" which, in its apparent lightness, still unable to characterize the room.
As previously stated, the need not to distort the position of existing services has meant that the bath remain from the original geometry, that is to say long and narrow. To work around this problem and make it more accessible space, it was positioned a passing shower with sliding glass doors to be used in times of need. For the finishes we have been chosen piastrelloni stoneware to concrete effect while to outline the area of ​​the shower of hexagonal piastrelline.
Throughout the apartment ceilings have been provided (such as the kitchen, in the hallway and over the bed) for the housing of the lighting bodies; alternatively a peripheral band for the same purpose has been prepared.
