Dear Corra and Ludo,
This project features renovation of an old apartment with focus on optimizing current floorplan layout to make a functional and pleasant living and work environment. The goal was not to overcrowd rooms with furniture but to secure unobstructed passage in all directions. Color scheme was chosen to make space visually larger and appealing.
Hallway includes custom made wardrobe with seating bench and coat hanger. A small console table is placed at the wall on the right (from the entrance door). A glass door leads from the entrance hallway to the rest of the apartment.
Glass doors are also chosen for study/guest bedroom and bathroom in order to get some light to the hallway.
Bathroom door is made of translucent glass (lets the light in but is not see trough).
Several ceiling lights are also in hallway to make it brighter.
Study is furnished with 2 person sofa bed, bookcase cabinet that can also be used as wardrobe for guests and work desk with ergonomic chair.
Working desks placement enables optimal natural light. Main color pallet in this room is enhanced with olive green.
Main bedroom features double bed (180x200), two nightstands and custom made wardrobe. Color pallet in this room is enhanced with pink shades.
Kitchen was designed following your guidelines regarding disposition of elements and esthetic.
Choice of sanitary elements in the bathroom relies mostly on recommendations from you contractor. For the laundry area I recommend laundry cabinets Nysgon from Ikea.
My suggestion would be not to demolish entire wall between living area and dining area. If a part of wall is kept (approx.. 1m) a tv wall with floating console can be created (as seen in your reference photos). This wall should be paneled with veneer boards hiding main bedroom door.
A appropriately dimensioned corner sofa was chosen and a modern coffee table.
Dining room has a extendible table (4-6 persons) and a stylish drawer. If preferred, accent wall in the dining can be painted in charcoal gray for more dramatic look.
Furniture was carefully selected to be easily found in Barcelona furniture stores.
