I am happy for having participated in this contest as it was an enjoyable project to work on.
The west unit is designed by demolishing some of the existing non-bearing walls to distribute the spaces in a new order. The kitchen is located to your right as you enter the building with a large bar counter which also serves as a dining area for private times. The north part of the house in ground floor is dedicated to TV room and dining room. There is also a common usage room in the north center of the building in order to join the two families that are going to be living in the 2 separate units. On the first floor, there are 3 larger bedrooms as opposed to the former combination, all of which have their own bathrooms, an office room and a living area on your right when climbing the stairs. The second floor consists of a larger office/study room, a WC and an open-air, cozy wellness area.
The Ease unit is almost the same as before, except the corner WC, which has become a little larger to be more comfortable. The kitchen has occupied the rest of the eastern room, again, containing a huge bar front table serving also as a dining area with a view to the street. On the ground floor, there is also small office which also serves as a filter to reach the common area. On the first floor I have demolished some of the former non-bearing walls in order to create a more open space. There is also 2 large bedrooms as well as a small guest room on your right when climbing up the stairs. The office room for the east unit is at the terrace, as well as a gathering table with a shade structure over it.
The ground floor courtyard is decorated with a new yoga/sports platform which is 20 cm higher from the floor and has a wooden structure shade for it self, making it enjoyable to stay fit.
I have allocated the 2nd floor terrace to be a common sports and fun area.
