The design idea arises from the need to optimize the sea view from the European Walk and at the same time maximize the area covered to be allocated to the restaurant area at +5.50m.
For this reason, a flat roof covering, which can be walked and of a minimum thickness, has been designed, which is a panoramic terrace at the height of + 8.50m, thus creating a natural extension of the "Promenade Europe" and a panoramic view over the entire Cala Loca.
In order to be as close as possible to covering the thickness of the roof, the building is designed to be used. The building is made up of a semi-prefabricated, dry-walled steel pilaster support frame and solid plywood multilayer coniferous wood with smooth surfaces Without seams on both sides, which envelop the entire volume constructed by realizing both the walls and the covering.
Structures in cross-sectional wooden panels (XLAM) meet the requirements of passive and low energy energy requirements with reduced structural thicknesses, allowing a larger volume of premises. This finished and compact product brakes heat, guarantees fire protection, and has good sound insulation; Prefabrication and dry construction method significantly reduce assembly times and this is a significant advantage.
In this sense, increased use of wood as durable construction material, with its energy-saving and neutrality properties in terms of Co2, is an active contribution to climate protection.
The imaginative cover will guarantee the restaurant's ability to be open during winter time and will repair guests from the sun during the summer.
But the design idea was certainly not to create a closed environment that prevented in summer, direct contact with the sea. One should imagine a closure that was completely and easily openable, transparent and insulating.
For this reason, the use of a maneuverable wall for thermal cut outs has been suggested. This product guarantees seasonal closure with a great result of acoustic and thermal comfort and without generating useful surface. The heat-insulated flexible soundproof cabinet guarantees low transmittance values, thus enabling the use of outdoor spaces, in every season, with any time conditions, while safeguarding the design and beauty of the environment.
In this way guests will enjoy the excellent food and enjoy the scenic view of the beach set between the cliffs of the cove and in winter sheltered by the wind and the cold, and in summer when the wall, completely disappearing, will allow the fresh passage of the Sea breeze combined with the shade of the cover will guarantee the well-being of the diners.
The project includes three entrances: the first one from the "Promenade Europa" from which you can access the panoramic terrace of the bar and, through the scale or lift for disabled people, the restaurant and the interior services of the bathing establishment; Connects the highway leading to the beach and allows direct access to the terrace of the bar; the third entrance from the beach allows access to the interior facilities of the bathing establishment and the restaurant.
The three planes as well as the conformed ones can be opened individually or all together according to the seasons and events and the whole structure could also be easily used for ceremonies.
This possibility is supported by the measures of the new kitchen of about 86 square meters. And the total number of seats in the 96-seat dining room. In order to delimit and embellish the restaurant area, the use of CEIPO ceramic brick bricks has been suggested. This ensures physical separation with the other areas of the plant. At the same time, the shingle wall allows the passage of sunlight and the view of the outer panorama, thus increasing the quality of the other spaces and ensuring daytime illumination also assisted by the presence of walkable glass parts in the bar-terrace cover.
The terrace bar is located above the restaurant's kitchen and can be connected to it via a passive lift truck. The bar includes a long counter, an ice cream parlor also visible from the European Walk. It has two storage rooms. The planimetric layout of the terrace, completely free-standing, will also allow you to organize summer evenings where you can dance to the moonlight or listen to the piano bar.
At both levels 2 toilet facilities and 1 hygienic service for handicapped were placed.
Two lifting platforms were installed for access to both levels and the beach.
At beach level it is hypothesized the construction of a pedestal in wooden aisles bounded by the stone wall in support of the structure. On the platform there are showers an area dedicated to canoeing or windsurfing, as well as a small room that can be used as a dressing room.
For the evening lighting design, the "NI Parasol 300 Sunbrella" umbrellas are designed with integrated LED lighting and low voltage batteries whose electrical components have an IP65 degree of protection and are therefore suitable for water resistance.
A touch panel allows you to control the illuminated components, making it extremely easy to adjust the intensity of light from a romantic "daylight" candle light.

L’idea progettuale nasce dal bisogno di rendere ottimale la vista del mare dalla Passeggiata Europa e contemporaneamente aumentare al massimo possibile l’area coperta da destinare all’area ristorante alla quota +5.50m.
Per questo motivo è stata ideata una copertura piana, calpestabile e di minimo spessore, che è terrazza panoramica alla quota +8.50m.diventando così naturale ampliamento della “Passeggiata Europa” e punto panoramico sull’intera Cala Loca.
Per poter contenere al massimo lo spessore della copertura si propone l’utilizzo L’edificio è costituito da un telaio portante misto in pilastri in acciaio semi-prefabbricato, montato a secco, e tavole di compensato massiccio multistrato di legno di conifera con superfici lisce e prive di giunture su entrambi i lati, che avvolgono l’intero volume costruito realizzando sia le pareti, sia la copertura.
Le strutture in pannelli ad assi incrociati in legno (XLAM) soddisfano i requisiti delle norme in materia di costruzioni passive e a basso consumo d’energia con spessori strutturali ridotti, consentendo così un volume maggiore dei locali. Tale prodotto finito e compatto frena il calore, garantisce una protezione antincendio, ed ha un buon isolamento acustico; la prefabbricazione ed il metodo di costruzione a secco riducono sensibilmente i tempi di montaggio e ciò rappresenta un notevole vantaggio.
In questo senso un maggiore utilizzo del legno come materiale da costruzione durevole, con le sue proprietà di risparmio d’energia e di neutralità in termini di Co2, rappresenta un contributo attivo alla protezione del clima.
La copertura così immaginata garantirà la possibilità al ristorante di poter essere aperto anche durante i periodi invernali e riparerà gli ospiti dal sole durante l’estate.
Ma l’idea progettuale non era certo quella di creare un ambiente chiuso che impedisse in estate, il diretto contatto con il mare. Occorreva immaginare una chiusura che fosse completamente e facilmente apribile, trasparente ed isolante.
Per tale motivo è stato ipotizzato l’utilizzo di una parete manovrabile per esterni a taglio termico. Questo prodotto garantisce la chiusura stagionale con un ottimo risultato di comfort acustico e termico e senza generare superficie utile. La parete manovrabile insonorizzata a taglio termico garantisce bassi valori di trasmittanza permettendo così di utilizzare le esigenze di utilizzo degli spazi esterni, in ogni stagione, con qualsiasi condizione di tempo, salvaguardando il design e la bellezza dell’ambiente.
In questo modo gli ospiti potranno gustare l’ottimo cibo godendo della vista suggestiva della spiaggia incastonata tra gli scogli della caletta sia d’inverno riparati dal vento e dal freddo, che d’estate quando la parete, scomparendo completamente, permetterà il fresco passaggio della brezza marina che unito all’ombra della copertura garantirà il benessere dei commensali.
Il progetto prevede tre ingressi: il primo dalla Passeggiata Europa" dal quale si accede alla terrazza panoramica del bar e, tramite la scala o l'elevatore per disabili al piano del ristorante e dei servizi interni dello stabilimento balneare; il secondo avviene dalla scalinata esterna che collega la strada carrabile superiore alla spiaggia e permette il diretto accesso alla terrazza del bar; il terzo ingresso quello dalla spiaggia, permette l'accesso ai servizi interni dello stabilimento balneare ed al ristorante.
I tre piani così come sono stati conformati potranno essere aperti singolarmente o tutti insieme a seconda delle stagioni e degli eventi e l'intera struttura potrebbe anche essere facilmente impiegata per cerimonie.
Tale possibilità è supportata dalle misure della nuova cucina di circa 86 mq. e dal numero complessivo di coperti della sala ristorante pari a 96 posti a sedere. Per delimitare ed impreziosire la zona ristorante è stato ipotizzato l'utilizzo di mattoni frangisole in ceramica della CEIPO. In questo modo si è garantita una separazione fisica con le altre aree dello stabilimento. Al contempo la parete frangisole permette il passaggio della luce del sole e la visione del panorama esterno aumentando così la qualità degli altri spazi e garantendo l'illuminazione diurna coadiuvata anche dalla presenza di parti in vetro calpestabile presenti nella copertura a livello della terrazza bar.
Il bar della terrazza è posizionato sopra la cucina del ristorante e potrà essere messo in collegamento con essa tramite un montacarichi passavivande. Il bar prevede oltre ad un lungo bancone, una zona gelateria visibile anche dalla Passeggiata Europa. E' dotato di due locali atti a deposito. La conformazione planimetrica della terrazza, completamente libera centralmente inoltre darà la possibilità di organizzare serate estive in cui ballare al chiaro di luna o ascoltare il piano bar.
Ad entrambi i livelli sono stati posizionati 2 servizi igienici ed 1 servizio igienico per portatori di handicap.
Per loro sono state inserite due piattaforme elevatrici che permettono l'accesso ai due livelli ed alla spiaggia.
A quota spiaggia è ipotizzata la realizzazione di una pedana in assi di legno posta a confine con il muro in pietra a sostegno della struttura. Sulla pedana vi sono le docce una zona dedicata allo stazionamento di canoe o windsurf nonché un piccolo locale che potrà essere adibito a spogliatoio.
Per la scenografia luminosa serale si propone l'acquisto degli ombrelloni "NI Parasol 300 Sunbrella" con illuminazione integrata a led e dotati di batterie a basso voltaggio i cui I componenti elettrici hanno un grado di protezione IP65, quindi idonei per resistere all'acqua.
Un pannello a sfioramento permette di controllare le componenti illuminate, rendendo estremamente facile la regolazione dell’intensità luminosa da romantica luce di candela ad effetto "daylight".
