We bought a house that was built in 1960s. The house has 3 bedrooms, a study, 2 bathrooms, one front living room and a back den facing the backyard. For now, we are thinking about updating the interior as well as redo the kitchen and two bathrooms. We are pretty open to what can be done with the place though. Here are some initial thoughts:
Kitchen, looks outdated and the layout blocks the flow of space the back part of the house with Cabinet in the middle. We are thinking about remove the old cabinet and have cabinet wrap around the wall, as such, opening up the kitchen area.
Living room, needs to be functional. We have a big long window in the living room. We are not sure to put sofa or a long table in front of it. We do not have plan to have TV in this living room. So it will be an area of lounging, reading, relaxing, working on the laptop etc.
Kids bedroom, we have three boys, and would like to have a fun and functional bed room. As of now, we have a twin on full bunk bed for all three to sleep in. The room is pretty messy littered with books and toy.
Master bedroom, has two windows and three doors (master bath, walkin closet, and entry door). So it’s pretty hard try to place a queen size bed.
Master bath, is very small, outdated look. We’d like to give it an updated look, but also functional with some more storage.
Hallway bath room, is decent size, but also outdated look. We’d like the two bath rooms of consistent look.
Den is connected to the kitchen for family entertainment and also designated kids play area.
Garage, storage ideas welcomed.
The house has good airflow, we’d like to keep it that way. Any way to get more natural light is welcomed.
As you can see, we have some ideas and asks but are also open to all ideas.
I have uploaded some current pictures. I will upload more soon of the rooms I have not covered. All the furniture are old from our prior place. And we are still unpacking from the move.
Thanks for your interest and feel free to reach out for questions.
