Thank you for the opportunity to work on your project, it’s been a pleasure.
I hope I have met all your requirements, needs, and wishes in my proposal.
For the two units required (separate granny flat & main house lounge) I've kept the original layout and the two spaces that were already divided.
This aim was to place the lounge and kitchen area of the granny flat on the poolside facade and make a continuous living area along with the pool regarding both living units. And make the bedroom area more private by placing it towards the inside of the flat.
This disposition creates both a functional plan and a pleasant atmosphere in all spaces.
_ Lounge
The lounge is oriented towards the kitchen and dining room or the main house. The connection between the two spaces is designed through a built-in unit with tv, bookshelves, and storage space. Besides the main seating area of the lounge that is open towards the outside, there is a small intimate nook by the window that can be a reading nook or just a different atmosphere in the shade towards the inside of the house for a more intimate feeling.
_ Granny flat
The granny flat contains all required spaces and is designed as a completely separate unit while maintaining a connection with the outside and not disturbing the continuity of outside space.
The lounge, kitchen, and dining area are joined in an open plan solution by the existing folding windows by the pool.
The kitchen is quite small but fully equipped. The laundry is incorporated into the kitchen as a European-style laundry and it can be made larger (size of two high units) if the built-in oven is placed below the cooktop instead of the current position (depending on your needs).
The bedroom has an en suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe as required.
The small toilet is organized in a way that you could close the toilet with an additional door if you prefer.
All water and sanitation installations are placed on the outer wall towards the garage as the additional document that was provided states that all the amenities are placed outside including the water heating unit. As the exact position of those was not known the outlets and connection to hot water are schematic (but are flexible to be moved anywhere along that wall).
This solution gives you a lot of flexibility and does not require several positions for installation in the flat.
If you have any further questions or need any additional drawings, feel free to contact me if you decide to go in this direction. I'm at your disposal.
