Hello dear client,
I hope you’re doing well.
In this design, I’ve prepared two fully functional alternatives for you, and you can choose whichever one you prefer. Personally, I recommend Alternative 2. Below, I’ve provided a detailed explanation of both options:
Alternative 1:
In this version, an island is placed at the boundary between the kitchen and the living room, partially separating the two spaces. The dining area is located within the kitchen, which helps create a warm and cozy atmosphere.
You can also use the cabinets under the island for additional storage, giving you slightly more cabinet space compared to Alternative 2.
The bedroom layouts remain unchanged in both options.
This alternative was designed based on your request to make it possible to add an island to the kitchen if space allows.
Alternative 2:
In this version, the counter between the kitchen and the living room has been removed, creating a completely open layout.
In this setup, the four main central areas of your home, the kitchen, dining area, living room, and the piano space, remain visually distinct but are well connected to each other.
The dining table is positioned slightly closer to the living area, maintaining a strong connection with both the kitchen and the living room. This makes serving and clearing dishes more convenient and creates a smooth flow between the spaces.
This arrangement offers a friendly, social atmosphere, perfect for gatherings when some guests are seated around the dining table and others are in the living area, yet everyone can stay connected.
Imagine playing the piano for your guests while they can see you and enjoy the music, it brings a warm, lively, and inviting feel to the space.
In both alternatives, I’ve provided two possible locations for the oven: one beneath the cooktop, and another on the right side of the kitchen near the start of the hallway. If electrical wiring is available, the oven can be integrated into the cabinetry in that area.
I’ve also considered two placement options for the microwave: either built into the cabinetry next to the oven (on the right side of the kitchen), or placed as a portable unit on the countertop beside the refrigerator. The final choice depends on your preference and the available electrical outlets.
For the workstation, I’ve designed two possible locations:
- The first option is on the left side of the entrance, as a wall-mounted, portable desk. However, I wouldn’t recommend this option since it’s close to the entrance and may make the layout feel slightly crowded.
-The second, more practical option is on the right side of the kitchen, designed as a built-in, pull-out desk concealed within the cabinetry. The sliding cabinet doors can easily tuck inside the unit, so the desk can be pulled out when needed and hidden away when not in use, keeping the space clean and clutter-free.
Regarding the color palette and lighting:
As per your request for bright colors and soft lighting, the entire design has been developed with a light, airy atmosphere in mind, as you can clearly see in the 3D renderings.
My suggestion for the color of the parquet or laminate flooring is to make it slightly lighter, so the space feels more modern, brighter, and airier. The floor color has a strong impact on the overall atmosphere, and darker tones tend to make the space feel heavier. To achieve a lighter look, there’s no need to replace the flooring, you can simply use a whitewash technique to brighten it up.
To maintain visual continuity between the indoor areas and the terraces, I’ve used light linen shades in a tone very similar to the wall color. This way, even when the shades are drawn, their soft texture and light color prevent them from acting as a strong visual divider between the interior and exterior spaces.
Terrace Design:
The terrace has been divided into four functional zones, subtly separated by planters. These planters help define each area while still keeping a sense of openness and continuity, and they also bring freshness and vitality to the overall space.
-One section is dedicated to an eight-person dining table, ideal for outdoor meals and gatherings.
-Another section features a small lounge set with a table that includes a built-in, portable fireplace, it functions both as a table and as a fire pit. This allows you to comfortably gather outdoors even during colder seasons. In warmer months, a glass top can be placed on the table so it can be used conveniently without the fire feature.
- The third section is a two-person seating area with direct access from the upstairs room, a cozy, intimate corner for quiet moments.
-And finally, the fourth section, located at the upper end of the terrace, includes a four-person table, perfect for smaller gatherings or casual activities like board games in a more private setting.
The terrace also includes a shade canopy, making the space comfortable and usable throughout the year, both in summer and winter.
All the points mentioned above are included in the layout plans, dimension drawings, and 3D visualizations that I’ve prepared and shared with you.
Best regards.
