La richiesta del cliente era quella di riuscire a trasformare uno stabile storico in un B&B con terrazza panoramica, cortile interno e cantina.
L'idea progettuale si è così tradotta in una struttura ricettiva moderna e destinata ad una clientela più ampia.
Il piano terra presente delle volte "a botte" e ho pensato bene di destinare questo livello ad uso cantina, o meglio: vengono inseriti la reception, il winebar e una piccola cucina in grado di soddisfare sia le degustazioni che le prime colazioni, al fine di non dover uscire dalla struttura per offrire questo servizio.
In questo piano viene collocata una cucina a vista separata e connessa al resto degli ambienti da una parete vetrata.
Questa scelta è dettata dalla volontà di dare carattere ed unicità allo stile proposto.
Gli arredi seguono questo stesso concetto. Vengono introdotte delle vecchie botti che fungono da piano di appoggio o da reception.
L'illuminazione sottolinea il carattere moderno, grazie all'inserimento di luci led lungo il perimetro del piano, mentre per dare maggiore luce si utilizzano dei binari sospesi su fili d'acciaio con faretti, proprio per non andare a rovinare la volta e le pareti originari.
Da questo piano si accede direttamente nel cortile interno.
Nella seconda proposta da questo piano è possibile accedere alle camere grazie ad un'apertura nella parete divisoria accanto alle due entrate preesistenti.
Al Piano primo troviamo due camere: una junior suite e una camera standard.
La junior suite si articola in due ambienti: zona notte e zona servizi. Viene inserita una piccola cucina con piano cottura ad induzione e lavabo, per pernottamenti prolungati.
Nella proposta alternativa la suite viene resa più spaziosa creando una vera e propria zona giorno, che con l'inserimento di un divano-letto può essere destinata anche a famiglie e non solo come "business hotel". L'ampliamento è reso possibile eliminando una camera da questo piano, e trasformarla in ufficio/reception.
In entrambe le proposte, dalla suite si accede direttamente al cortile interno.
Il cortile interno si trasforma in un giardino segreto, moderno ed esotico, ricco di salti di quota, zona relax e spazi verdi; inoltre ho lasciato la possibilità di installare una sauna o una vasca idromassaggio nella parte più alta del giardino, a cui si accede attraverso un ponticello.
In questo modo il cortile diventa più esclusivo.
Le stanze standard si alternano per colore e stile, quindi in ogni piano si ha una camera più minimalista e moderna, dalle tonalità chiare, e una camera più ricercata dove contemporaneità e classicità si uniscono, con toni più forti ed elementi fissi e mobili più articolari.
Il piano copertura, o quarto piano, viene trasformato in una terrazza panoramica. Come per il cortile, ho giocato sui diversi livelli per definire le funzioni.
Quindi troviamo prima una zona conversazione illuminata con lo stesso metodo usato per il winebar (l'uso di elementi e idee comuni serve ad unificare l'idea progettuale); seguendo la conformazione del piano e salendo dei gradoni che segnano il percorso, nella parte opposta dell'ingresso alla terrazza si trova una zona pranzo, più riservata e dotata di tettoia parasole con alette automatizzate e orientabili.
Il lato lungo del piano è contornato da fioriere per rendere più organico il terrazzo.
Nella seconda soluzione la zona pranzo è provvista di cucina esterna per poter utilizzare la terrazza per eventi, cene e feste private, o semplicemente utilizzarla per la clientela del B&B.

Technical report:
The customer's request was to be able to transform a historic building into a B & B with a panoramic terrace, internal courtyard and cellar.
The design idea has thus resulted in a modern accommodation facility intended for a wider clientele.
The ground floor has "barrel" vaults and I thought it would be good to allocate this level to cellar use, or rather: the reception, the wine bar and a small kitchen are inserted that can satisfy both tastings and breakfasts, in order not to have to leave the structure to offer this service.
On this floor there is a separate open kitchen connected to the rest of the rooms by a glass wall.
This choice is dictated by the desire to give character and uniqueness to the proposed style.
The furnishings follow this same concept. Old barrels are introduced to serve as a support surface or reception.
The lighting emphasizes the modern character, thanks to the insertion of LED lights along the perimeter of the floor, while to give more light we use rails suspended on steel wires with spotlights, just to avoid ruining the vault and the original walls.
From this floor there is direct access to the inner courtyard.
In the second proposal from this floor it is possible to access the rooms thanks to an opening in the partition wall next to the two pre-existing entrances.
On the first floor there are two rooms: a junior suite and a standard room.
The junior suite is divided into two areas: sleeping area and service area. There is a small kitchen with induction hob and sink, for longer stays.
In the alternative proposal, the suite is made more spacious by creating a real living area, which with the inclusion of a sofa bed can also be used for families and not only as a "business hotel". The extension is made possible by eliminating a room from this floor, and transforming it into an office/reception.
In both proposals, the suite leads directly to the inner courtyard.
The inner courtyard is transformed into a secret, modern and exotic garden, full of jumps in altitude, relaxation area and green spaces; I also left the possibility of installing a sauna or a hot tub in the highest part of the garden, which is accessed through a bridge.
The standard rooms alternate in color and style, so on each floor you have a more minimalist and modern room, with light shades, and a more refined room where contemporaneity and classicism come together, with stronger tones and more articulated fixed and mobile elements.
The roof floor, or fourth floor, is transformed into a panoramic terrace. As for the courtyard, I played on the different levels to define the functions.
So we first find a conversation area illuminated with the same method used for the wine bar (the use of common elements and ideas serves to unify the design idea); Following the shape of the floor and climbing the steps that mark the path, on the opposite side of the entrance to the terrace there is a dining area, more reserved and equipped with a sun canopy with automated and adjustable fins.
The long side of the floor is surrounded by planters to make the terrace more organic.
In the second solution, the dining area is equipped with an outdoor kitchen to use the terrace for events, dinners and private parties, or simply use it for the customers of the B & B.
