1. The materials used were chosen in your best interest; long lasting finishes together with vivid colors;
2. Do not worry about the costs, they are high only because you gave us very little information about the works needed in the apartment; worst case scenario - the costs will be lower.
3. The new configuration of the apartment will be easy to accomplish (few walls to demolish and not so many to build).
4. I didn't understand if you needed new doors and windows so I added them anyway.
