The object of the contest foresees the renewal of the facade of a commercial real estate building in Bellusco, Corso alpi 23.
After a careful needs analysis of the context and of the building itself we have identified a main idea of the project. Which is the need to give the facade a sense of motion because at the moment it seems too dull and still.
Because of the material used in the cladding as well as the size of the building, whose image seems to be deturped by the detachement of the Mouldings and the facade. The mouldings seem to have a superior height giving the over all look an unclear, inprecise and approximate look. For this reason we have hypothisised a structure made up of various units which would not be connected to one another but connected by a rythm which is repeated along the four sides of the structure. We aim to reevaluate the existing facade because we believe that the building's facade should be given more value by strengthening one of its weaker aspects. We consider the placement of the entrances to be disorderly. We would like to add three dimensional aspects. The entrances would be projected beyond the facade, giving the assemble harmony and character. This would also recennect the building to the mouldings. These elements will be developed by playing with full and empty spaces. That will design shadows on the facade giving it the necessary motion and eliminate the static appearance. The shapes we have chosen will follow the perimeter of the entrances , framing them and connecting them within a singular design. This choice however is not solely due to esthetic motivations.the elements that extend from the floor plan of each section are 70cm. They also act as a pensil for the entrance which in turn eliminates the need to replace them, and will be a source of illumination . Thanks to the installation of LED wall fixtures, which will light the facade at night making the building more noticeable and more adapt to it's function.
We have hypothisised the use of steel corten, which has a brownish protective film, that concides well with the esthetics and protects against the atmospheric conditions.
(in the list of materials, the panels initially indicated were 1 m thick even though in the project we indicated a thickness of 70 cm, this is due to the difficulty we had obtaining a different size. We retain to reconsider this aspect in the future)
IT- L’oggetto del contest prevede la riqualificazione delle facciate di un edificio ad uso commerciale sito in Bellusco, corso Alpi 23 (Italia, Provincia di Monza e della Brianza).
Dopo una attenta analisi del contesto e dell’edificio stesso abbiamo individuato come chiave di lettura del progetto la necessità di conferire movimento alle facciate, le quali risultano essere troppo piatte sia a causa del materiale di rivestimento sia a causa delle proporzioni dell’edificio stesso, la cui immagine appare disturbata dallo stacco improvviso delle facciate con il cordolo rispetto al quale risultano avere un’altezza troppo elevata restituendo una composizione poco chiara, indefinita ed approssimativa.
Per tale motivo abbiamo ipotizzato una struttura composta da più unita staccate tra di loro ma collegate da un ritmo che si ripete lungo i 4 lati della struttura.
Cercando di non nascondere le facciate attuali siamo giunti alla conclusione che l’edificio potesse essere valorizzato andando a rafforzare quello che è uno dei punti deboli della struttura e cioè la disposizione delle aperture, la cui articolazione disordinata può essere valorizzata tramite l’aggiunta di elementi tridimensionali che vanno letteralmente a proiettare le aperture al di fuori della facciata stessa conferendo movimento, tridimensionalità e carattere alla composizione ripristinando un’armonia di facciata e collegandosi anche al cordolo superiore.
Questi elementi si sviluppano su un gioco di pieni e vuoti che disegnano ombre sulle facciate conferendole un movimento che ne va ad annullare la staticità. La forma individuata segue il perimetro delle aperture incorniciandole all’interno di una composizione che si rifà ad un unico disegno, questa scelta tuttavia non risponde solo ad un fattore estetico, gli elementi, che si estrudono dal piano di sezione della facciata di un massimo di 70 cm, fungono infatti sia da pensiline di ingresso andando a risolvere il problema della sostituzione delle ultime, sia da vere e proprie fonti luminose, grazie alla installazione di applique a Led che illuminando la struttura durante le ore di buio, rendendola individuabile e più consona alle funzioni che essa ospita.
Il materiale da noi ipotizzato è l’acciaio Corten, la cui principale caratteristica è l’autoprotezione dagli agenti atmosferici garantita da un film superficiale che presenta una colorazione bruna che si sposa perfettamente alle caratteristiche del materiale attuale di facciata.
[ Nella lista delle finiture i pannelli indicati presentano una dimensione di 1 m, nonostante nel progetto siano specificate dimensione differenti (70 cm max), questo a causa della impossibilità in fase di richiesta iniziale del materiale di ottenere un taglio inferiore ad 1 m, tuttavia crediamo che a questo si possa rimediare in un secondo momento ].
