Thank you for the opportunity to work on your project, I enjoyed it very much and I hope you'll equally enjoy the proposal.
I've revised all your inputs both through the brief and given materials, as well as the information given in the conversations with designers, and tried to implement them in the best way possible. Some last-minute information such are the second entrance door is changed in some drawings and some, it remains closed but it does not affect the proposal either way.
Since the measures are taken from a scanned document they won't be 100% accurate but I think they are very close.
I'll briefly talk through the proposal in general and room by room to explain some design decisions and clarify certain details of the design.
As a general floor organization, the apartment is divided into two areas, the day and night areas.
The current apartment is now home to the daytime functions of the home and the new addition to the space is the sleep and office area.
This creates a better connection between each function, especially functions that need to be in constant interaction.
The living area has an open-plan solution with the kitchen being visually secluded and being in a position to be either open or closed according to your preference.

Lounge
As you enter the apartment you walk into the lounge which is oriented away from the entrance and towards an accent wall with a fireplace and tv system. The lounge is furnished with a sofa and lounge chair with a set of small coffee tables that are flexible to use in various ways around the room. By the high window, there is a book nook with shelving and closed storage cupboards. The lounge is connected to the dining area accessed from two sides around the central accent hiding a bathroom.
Dining area
The dining area is placed between the lounge and the kitchen to be accessed from both areas. It's furnished with a large dining table for 8 people, a built-in unit with full height storage, a low cabinet below the window, and a small study area.
The study area is small and is positioned inside the living area as a more social option for shorter work tasks that don't require full concentration but rather can be done while socializing with the rest of the family, or a desk for the child to use later on in school years for homework while you're preparing diner in the kitchen.
Kitchen
The kitchen is positioned according to your preference and in a position that gives you the option to either close it or open it towards the dining area and also towards the terrace. I would not suggest a completely closed environment and therefore it's not marked as one in the floorplan, but I would recommend having flexible glass panels if you think you would want it closed in some scenario.
One small part of the windows is closed to be able to install tall elements that are freestanding and do not require to be hung on the wall. The rest of the kitchen is low cabinets only in an L-shape formation with an island with a cooktop in the middle.
The kitchen is fully equipped and even though you don't have upper cabinets provides you with lots of storage space both in the low cabinets and the kitchen island.
Terrace
The terrace is directly accessed from the kitchen as well as from the lounge where the exit remains unchanged.
The terrace has two areas, an outdoor dining area by the kitchen where there is a wider area to be able to entertain a larger number of guests besides the family. The second area is on the other side of the terrace and it's an outdoor lounge area. Since the storage room on the terrace is removed and there used to be a structure there, I assumed that that space now can be covered with a pergola to create a semi-shaded space for the outdoor lounge.
Laundry & storage
As you enter the apartment, on the left side, a built-in wardrobe is created for shoes and coats to be accessible by the entrance for items that are regularly used and for guests. Next to the cupboard, in the position of the current kitchen, a laundry area is created. This area already has the necessary installations so it was the perfect use of the space. The area is divided into two separate zones, laundry with sink, washing machine, dryer, folding space, and storage. In the second area, the small storage space can be either general storage or a pantry.
Bathroom
The bathroom is in its original position just larger than it used to be, equipped with a walk-in shower, toilet, bidet, and sink.
The bathroom is accessed on the shorter side for the entrance not to be from the living space but rather a small corridor between the lounge and the dining area.
______________________________
The new apartment is accessed from the lounge and directly connected to the main entrance of the apartment.
To gain access to all the rooms of this apartment a corridor was created through the middle dividing the space into two rooms, and leaving the bathrooms and third room as is.
You've mentioned that you would like the bathroom to be accessed from the master bedroom and therefore the west room is created as a master bedroom and the east room as the child's room, and the narrow room on the south side of the home office.
Master bedroom
The master bedroom is furnished with a large 200x180 cm bed with bedside tables on both sides as part of the built-in wardrobe along the west wall. The space below the window is a small vanity area and on the wall opposite the bed is a cabinet.
The bathroom is accessed directly from the bedroom and has a walk-in shower, toilet, bidet, and sink.
The wardrobe in the corridor is positioned for extra wardrobe space if needed since the bedroom does not have a walk-in closet or a lot of storage space.
Child's bedroom
The furniture for the small bedroom is not specified since it's furniture that changes more often as the child grows and the plan drawing is organized to show the scenario with a full-sized single bed as the most space needed for a bed.
Next to the bed is a built-in wardrobe, and on the other side of the room now low cabinets for toys and books and a small table for toddlers central positioned. Later on, this space can be used for a desk and bookshelves.
Study/home office
This room is accessed from the corridor from the main entrance, but can also be accessed through the original door to the second apartment. This does not affect the spatial organization of the space and the door can be hidden with wall paneling either as a functional door or not.
The study is furnished with a large desk that can be used by two people and a lounge chair as a reading nook with bookshelves along the wall as you enter the room.

Most furniture is specified in the furniture lists, other furniture that is not specified is built-in custom-designed storage units and wardrobes.
The kitchen is not designed in detail since it would require precise dimensions but from the provided option for kitchen design, I've listed some specifics that would match the rest of the design.
