I am Susy, I am 56 years old and I live in Genoa. I’m going to buy an apartment of 120 m2 where I’ll live with my husband and my brother (49 years old).
The apartment, in a building of the 60s, is composed of a relatively large entrance. All rooms are on the right with the exception of a square room at the end of the long corridor. At the entrance is now a large living room with double windows ( this space is composed by two rooms never divided). Than we can find a very large and square kitchen and finally the last two rooms with a second balcony; one of the room is smaller and square . The two bathrooms are opposed to the rooms.
First of all we need to create two independent spaces: one wider space for me and my husband and the other for my brother who need just a room equipped and of course a bathroom.
We like modern home with new and modern wiring, we’d like to have a sort of “home automation”. with different lighting point that we can’t use indipendently. We also need a good network for PCs that we all use both for work and for leisure.
We’d like to realize a small studio for my brother in the initial part of the apartment, considering also the possibility of inserting also for him a small cooking area that can be used in our absence, so he doesn’t use the main cooking area which obviously must have all facilities and we would like to be connected or adjacent to a large living area. The room “studio” did not need to have the classic bed but a comfortable and functional bed that can serve as a location from which you can see the TV ( good friend for my brother). Mainly we need a cozy and functional, modern home in light colors and bright. We would like to reserve a room to create a study where to place some antique furniture from our parents that we would like to keep for affection. We would like to create a spacious walk-in closet and if the square footage allows a tiny area “gym”. I had the opportunity to see a picture of a room with a loft area open to one side and closed in the narrower area that allowed a “closet”. It’s a great idea to use vertical space (the ceilings are 3 meters high). I do not have the image, but we’d like to use this idea in a room, perhaps with the walk in closet and the gym. The main bathroom is currently not very large, but equipping it with the shower I think might have sufficient reception. The smaller bathroom (for the studio) is really small, but is adjacent to the utility room. Probably it will be a good idea to combine the two areas and get a small corner for the washing machine. Anyway we’d like to increase the size of both the bathrooms, maybe better use of the long corridor, if it’s possible . We think about a lot of possibilities, the ideas are many and sometimes we get lost thinking about them. I believe the expert opinion we can really help us.
