The main concept is the creation of a house complex which can accommodate the needs of contemporary living through comfort. The basic points of design is privacy, exploitation of the plot’s slope and sun orientation.

The houses have been placed in a way that each one has been moved back with its next one, in order to have privacy. To allow the sun light to enter at every space of the building, a big skylight has been created in the back side. In addition the houses have been rotated to better exploit the south orientation. All these above allow the light to enter in every space of the building and create pleasant spaces for living. Also different type of semi transparent “walls” create more atmospheric spaces and keep the privacy of the inhabitants.

The entrance at the complex is from a street which is almost parallel at the one side of the plot. From this street there are ramps which lead to the parking areas of each house. Furthermore there are some parts of the street that become wider in order to provide the ability of parking for guests.

So the entrance of the house is from the covered parking area. At the ground floor there is the living areas (sitting area, dinning and kitchen). All these spaces have big windoors which give the opportunity to disappear the borders between inside and outside. Also there is an office, a guest room/secondary living room and a wc. At the outdoor area there is a swimming pool with pool lounge area, a covered outdoor kitchen with outdoor dinning and a sitting area.

At the first floor is the sleeping area. For this floor there are two proposals. The first proposal has one master bedroom, three bedrooms, one wc and a secondary sitting area. The second proposal has one master bedroom, two bedrooms, one wc and a secondary sitting area. At both proposals the bedrooms are oriented at the big part of the plot in order to have as a view the gardens that will be designed and constructed. Also the rest spaces of this floor get indirect light from the big skylight.

As you will notice there are two different versions which propose different distribution (mainly at the ground floor). At version A there is an entrance area from where you can lead to the open space living area or go at the more separated areas of the kitchen, office and guest room. Also at version A the living area have big corner windoors and expands to the exterior space of the pergola. At version B the entrance area is at the open space living area. The living area is parallel to the orientation of the pool and expands to the exterior through big windoors. The other zone of the house host the more separated spaces like the office, kitchen, guest room and wc.

All these elements above provide houses with different qualities where every habitant will be able to find its own spot, but at the same time flow between spaces will connect them. So people who live the house can choose to isolate or be more public. At last but not least, the goal was to create a house with sunny and pleasant spaces that at the same time will make easy its everyday stay.
