Description

The project create a new house in the existing burn and connect the other building adding a connection space. The other building has been designed as an independent office on the ground floor, and as a tractor store on the first floor.
The style chosen is very simple; the main materials are stone (existing) wood and steel, to create the new structures. The core of the house is the kitchen, with a large cooking plane, high ceiling and large windows, to allow day lighting. The kitchen has been designed as a multi-function room, where it is possible to cook, to eat and to talk together around a table.
On the room of old fireplace I have designed a large living room, focused on a giant fireplace. The furniture here is essential and chosen to favourite people talking, not tv watching.
Two large bedrooms, with a walk-in wardrobe has been designed on the first floor, accessible and liveable by a reduced mobility person.
Directly from the kitchen and one bedroom or from the garden using a staircase there is a pool terrace where it is possible to see the sunset.
The existing roof tiles have been preserved and reused in the new roof that has the same shape of the existing one. Two new roof surfaces has been created as a green roof, to maximize landscape integration.
The technology chosen allow reducing energy consumption both for heating and for cooling and allowing being compliant with French regulation: roof, walls and floor have insulation panels but the original wall structures are preserved.
