When I think that you are going to have two flats so the attached part will be blind. That's why storage, laundry and living room were located over there. Living room can take natural light because of its open planing. I tried to keep wet areas like in old one. But the bathroom that looks the kitchen had a wrong positioning. By taking it from there, you had an easy access from living to kitchen. Also a fireplace was located near to that access. The independent bathroom can have a mechanical easy ventilation. Also you have many empty wall to hang your paintings.
