Meeting & Relax Area For Luiss Enlabs Startup

The contest is only for some parts of the Via Marsala wing of the Termini Station in Rome where the startup accelerator, Luiss Enlabs, is located.

The project should include:

Box zone, (ZONA BOX)

A 60 space sqm next to the central open space where we’d like to create a meeting space with multiple functions with these 3 main goals:
Holding small informal meetings,
Relax and play area. We have a video game arcade cabinet and darts.
A”Device Lab” area, with a display cabinet that contains the devices for the startups to use, with a designated position for testing. (A desk for 4 would work)
In this space it’s necessary to consider a space for the logos of sponsers

Rooms’ features:
Blue pavement
A marble wall, impossible to drill since it’s administered by the authorities
Large windows
Large spaces (that we plan to close with large sliding windows in the coming months), that directly accesses the openspace
A door that opens to a large yard reserved for startups where there’s a ping-pong table and a table football.

Institutional Terrace (TERRAZZA ISTITUZIONALE)
The 82sqm terrace is usually used for cocktail time after the events. So we need furniture that can be moved easily and tables for catering.
Space’s features:
Very windy walkway
A marble wall, impossible to drill since it’s administered by the authorities
Large windows towards the openspace
Direct sunlight from 11 AM to 4 PM
Lemon trees

Startups’ Yard(CHIOSTRINA DELLE STARTUP)
The startups’ Yard is approximately 82 sqm, on the lower floor, and it’s directly accessed from the Box. The use of the space is a relax area for playing ping-pong, table football etc. We want to find a way for refreshing the air, because there’s no air circulation since it’s on the lower floor.

Space’s features:
Warm area, little air circulation
Two large walls that can be designed since they’re not administered by the authorities
The rest is a marble wall, impossible to drill since it’s administered by the authorities

The acceleration program’s yard (CHIOSTRINA DEL PROGRAMMA DI ACCELERAZIONE)
The yard is in the center of the acceleration program area. It’s mostly used for al fresco dining since it’s directly accessed from kitchen, as relax area and occasionally for informal cocktails.
We want a solution for a removable shade.

Space’s features:
Airy area with direct sunlight from 12 PM to 3 PM

Hall of the offices (CORRIDOIO UFFICI / CORPORATE)

The hall is approximately 345 sqm and we’d like to design it as a space for small informal meetings and/or calls. Since it’s right next to the offices, it’s essential to create a soundproof solution, specially for the calls.
It’s also necessary to come up with a simple and original solution for placing the name and logo of startups on each room. The signs should be easily modified, since startups often move and/or change their names or logos.
The glass walls can be decorated with stickers etc.

Space’s features:
Doors are must be free, so we need a solution that would exceed to the emergency exit area.
In both corridors (offices and corporate) there should be a space for printers, shelvings for paper reams, etc.

Relax are for corporates (SPAZIO RELAX CORPORATE)
This 61 sqm space is dedicated to the firms that are distanced from the relax/yards area. So we need a corner with a microwave, and a fridge.

Space’s features:
In this space there’s the passageway to the corridors, so the furniture should not bulky.

Kitchen (CUCINA)
A 21 sqm area with a fridge, microwave, a cold water. Study a solution to insert a cooking hub and a hood.

Features:
Direct access to the acceleration program’s yard.

Who we are:
LUISS ENLABS “the startup factory” is one of the main European accelerators. Funded in 2010 by Luigi Capello, entrepreneur and business angel, turned LUISS ENLABS in 2012 after the partnership with LUISS university. The mission is to support the startup in the process of development, in order to make them succeed in their feild.
The financial resources of the LUISS ENLABS are provided by LVenture Group, one of the few firms of the world that is part of stock markets in the Venture Capital. The headquarter of Luiss Enlabs is in Rome, in Termini Station, 29 Via Marsala. The main area is 500 sqm where more than 40 startup and 500 people work.
