In designing a villa inspired by the architecture of Dariush Mehrjui's film "Leila," I envisioned a harmonious blend of traditional and modern elements tailored for a young couple. The ground floor emphasizes interaction with the courtyard and outdoor spaces, fostering a seamless connection with nature while providing an ideal setting for entertaining guests. This open layout encourages social gatherings, enhancing the overall living experience.
On the upper level, I created a serene retreat for relaxation and leisure, ensuring a balance between vibrant social life and personal tranquility. The façade features a thoughtful combination of brick, reflecting the rich heritage of Iranian architecture, while exposed concrete introduces a contemporary, brutalist touch. This juxtaposition not only celebrates cultural identity but also embraces the modern world, creating a unique architectural narrative. Ultimately, the design embodies a dialogue between past and present, offering a welcoming home that resonates with the couple's lifestyle and aspirations.
