Project description

hello,
This project focuses on transforming the villa into a comfortable rental property inspired by the Mediterranean coastal style. The design aims to maximize sleeping capacity, maintain an open and airy atmosphere, and create a strong connection between the indoor living areas and the outdoor garden spaces.

The concept combines warm neutral colors, light materials, and functional layouts to create a relaxing holiday environment suitable for short-term stays.

Ground Floor

The ground floor was designed to provide flexible living and sleeping spaces while maintaining openness.

The main living area features an L-shaped sectional sofa that defines the lounge space while keeping circulation comfortable. A circular dining table was selected to optimize the available space and improve movement around the area.

To increase the accommodation capacity for rental purposes, an additional bed area was introduced in the living room, separated by a glass and steel divider. This divider maintains visual openness while still providing a sense of privacy.

The floor also includes one private bedroom, accessed from the lobby area.

Near the entrance lobby, a compact one-wall kitchen was designed with upper and lower cabinets, including the sink and stove. This layout keeps the interior kitchen simple and functional while allowing the outdoor spaces to play a larger role in daily use.

A bathroom with shower was designed for the ground floor. The layout includes a toilet, sink, and shower area, while the bidet was removed to maximize usable space.

A laundry area is located to the side, keeping all wet functions organized and accessible.

Outdoor Area

The outdoor space is designed as an extension of the living area and plays an important role in the Mediterranean lifestyle concept.

An outdoor kitchen counter facing the garden acts as a social cooking space. The counter allows seating for multiple chairs, creating a casual dining or bar area.

Next to it, a built-in L-shaped seating area with integrated storage and table provides a comfortable gathering space.

A few steps lead to the patio terrace, where a large outdoor dining table is positioned for meals and gatherings.

The patio connects directly to the swimming pool area, which also includes a relaxed seating zone for lounging and enjoying the garden environment.

Second Floor

The second floor layout was reorganized to create a more functional rental unit while respecting the existing structural elements.

Since the structural columns cannot be removed, a storage area was integrated between the columns in the lobby, turning a structural limitation into a practical feature.

The floor includes a bedroom designed with a linear bed arrangement, allowing the room to maintain comfortable circulation while maximizing space efficiency.

The living area features an L-shaped sectional sofa that can also convert into a bed, increasing the sleeping capacity for guests.

A circular dining table was again used to maintain a smooth flow in the space.

The bathroom was enlarged to better accommodate the fixtures. It now includes a glass shower cabin, toilet, and sink.

To simplify plumbing and maintenance, the laundry area was positioned outside the bathroom, adjacent to it, so that all wet areas remain grouped together.

Design Approach

The overall design follows the principles of Mediterranean coastal living:

light and natural materials

open and relaxed layouts

strong indoor–outdoor connection

flexible sleeping arrangements for rental use

The result is a villa that feels bright, functional, and welcoming, while maximizing its potential as a comfortable vacation rental property.
