Briefing

Hi designers,
I’d like a modern house in Mediterranean style. I’d like to exploit bio architecture as much as it is possible. The house has a basement and two stories, ground floor is the living area and firs floor is the night area. I’d like to install photovoltaic plan on the roof, so it should not be flat. I’d like the house to be warm in winter and cool in summer and as bright as possible.
The house will be in the south of Italy, in Cortale (CZ). The plot of land is in a hill country, the plot is wide open and windswept, west wind and east wind blow all year long. In fact, there is a wind farm nearby.
The view is scenic, from the house you can see both the Tyrrhenian Sea on the west side and the Ionian Sea on the east side. On the north side you can see the hillside at the foot of the Sila mount. So, we’d really want to give value to the view with big windows or openings in the south, east and west sides. We don’t want big windows on the north side. We’d also like to have the feeling to be surrounded by nature.
We are in a D climate region and our town is also earthquake zone 1.
We’d like the shape of the house to be rectangular and solid. We’d like the house to be on the east-west axis. We’d like to have porches and to have the best light exposure possible. We’d like the exterior parts to be shielded from the wind as much as it is possible, especially in summer when we like to dine outside. Maybe you can find some way to shield also the hot sun in summer.
The basement should be bright. In the basement there should be a wide kitchen/tavern with fireplace, a big pantry, a cellar, a workshop, a laundry, a small bathroom and an equipment room. It should have a car access.
Ground floor is the living area. We want a big entrance on the east or south-east side with the two doors – the one to the outside and the one to the outside – out of alignment. In the entrance we want a vanishing cabinet for coats, shoes, umbrellas etc. and a half-bathroom. We want glass doors to let the light in. The door will let into a hall from where there will be access to the other rooms. The kitchen should be bright, wide, well-organized. The dining room should be nearby the kitchen. A sliding door will let to the living area. Then we’d like a bigger dining area for guests. We want a fireplace in the living area and two studio rooms with big bookcases. Then there will be a bathroom and a winter garden.
First floor is the sleeping area. It should have a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and closet with window. Then a passageway with a big wardrobe, two more bedrooms and one more bathroom. We want balconies more than terraces.
The entrance of the plot is from a secondary road that is uphill. The gap with the overlying lowland area is 4 metres. On the west side the gap is lower, only 2 metres, so here you can place the access to the basement I guess. Above the access I’d like a space with a canopy to place 2-3 cars. Then we need a place to store the wood and a place to drain clothes.
The house could be up to 200mq (without the basement).

villa in bioarchitettura in stile moderno mediterraneo: seminterrato, piano terra giorno e primo piano notte, con tetto non piano in modo di ospitare i pannelli per il fotovoltaico,costruita secondo i criteri della bioarchitettura, quindi una casa bioclimatica; naturalmente calda d'inverno e fresca d'estate e molto luminosa.
Il luogo dove verrà edificata si trova in Italia, Calabria a Cortale prov. (CZ). zona collinare completamente aperta esposta al sole senza alcun ostacolo per tutto il giorno e, ai venti che spirano anche con forte intensita'predominante il ponente a seguire il levante,in tutte le stagioni,tant'è che il comune è sede di parco eolico.Con una vista panoramica di lunga veduta, molto suggestiva, che vede i due mari, tirreno ad ovest e ionio a est, e la presila a nord. Per tale contesto, il filo condutture deve essere la possibilita di godere di tale panorama con sensazione che la casa sia immersa nella natura con un dentro fuori. La fascia climatica è la D, zona sismica 1.
Piu nel dettaglio,la forma della costruzione deve essere compatta tipo un parallelepipedo con dei portici che movimentano la figura,disposta secondo l'asse est-ovest, con disposizione degli ambienti secondo la bioclimatica per captare il calore naturale del sole ,la illuminazione naturale con grandi aperture a sud , est e ovest per godere del panorama ,piccole o nulle a nord.poter vivere l'esterno protetti dai venti.Il seminterrato deve essere luminoso con accesso per autovetture, composto da una grande cucina tipo tavernetta con camino,una grande dispensa, cantina, laboratorio, lavanderia e stireria,bagno di servizio, area tecnica che ospita le appareccchiature degli impianti.
primo piano giorno; ampio ingresso a est o a sud , sud -est delimitato, in cui la porta d'ingresso non sia in linea diretta con l'accesso all'interno onde evitare l'effetto camino, che preveda un armadio a scomparsa per depositare il vestiario, scarpe, ombrelli, un bagnetto di servizio. l'ingresso è delimitato da porta a vetri da far filtrare la luce all'interno che si apre in una hall centrale dalla quale si diramano le varie aree. La cucina deve essere luminosa, grande, organizzata secondo aree funzionali; preparazione, trasformazione e deposito, zona di consumo dei pasti adiacente, delimitata dalla zona giorno da porta scorrevole a vetri,comunicante per vivere l'esterno,la zona soggiorno per tutti i giorni, poi una area /stanza da pranzo per i giorni speciali, salotto in open space, un camino che possa essere godibile dalla cucina e dal soggiorno salotto in open space,2 stanze a studio comunicanti con grandi librerie, bagno, e un giardino d'inverno.
primo piano notte; area padronale con camera letto padronale con bagno e stanza guardaroba con finestra, una area di disimpegno con con grande armadio attinente, altre 2 camere da letto e bagno,1 stanza del se.,armadi a scomparsa . balconi, non terrazze.
Altra importante caratteristica lo sottolineo è la possibilita di vivere l'esterno protetti dai venti ponente e levante, in estate di sera in particolare , schermaturre per la protezione del sole. Al lotto si accede dalla strada provinciale e va in salita con un dislivello di 4 mt e porta poi ad una area pianeggiante che sul lato ovest ha un dislivello di 2 mt circa e da dove vedrei l'accesso al seminterrato , sovrastante a questa zone una tettoia che ospita le automobili 2- 3 posti .prevedere una zona per la legnaia e zona dove stendere i panni. le dimensioni dovrebbero essere di 200 mq seminterrato a parte.
