two levels apartment at the outskirt of milan

Briefing

The 65 sqm apartment is on the second level of a 2008 building at outskirt of milan. The main entrance is a glass door on a private balcony. Kitchen and living area are on the first floor, while bedroom, bathroom and a terrace are on the upper floor.
The main difficulties in furnishing the space are related to the presence of the stairs, which makes it impossible to use half of a wall on the first floor and an entire wall on the second floor. I would like to get inputs about how to make use of the limited space available on both floors.

I like Scandinavian design, natural materials and colors that enhance natural light.
I want to have wooden floors in the entire house.
On the first floor I would like to have a kitchen, dining table, sofa, tv screen or wall projector and a small hi-fi system. I have many books, so I would like to find some space to fit them, no matter on which floor.
