transform my home to a modern design apartment

Briefing

it is a new apartment that we have (me & my wife) purchased recently. I want to do some tranformations because I don't like it as it is.
In fact, I don't like the different spaces that look very tiny so I want a design that will make the apartment seems spaceous, also there is not enough storage space, only one room has its own cupboard.
I want the design to include at least a master bedroom, a living room and a kitchen.
Any ideas that will give the feel of more space with a modern design are welcome.
I am thinking of installing an ethanol fireplace and a tv in the living room as a focal point.
I would like to have a master bedroom that includes the bathroom with an italian shower.
I would like the design to include some details of the ceiling and of the lighting system because I beleive that will contribute to open up the space of the apartment.
Also, I am thinking of installing an mdf 3d wall.
