Project Description

The design focuses on creating a bedroom that feels more spacious, organized, and adaptable for T. as she grows. Rather than maximizing furniture, the proposal prioritizes efficient space planning with clear circulation and integrated storage solutions.

The existing 120 × 200 cm bed has been retained in accordance with the project brief. The existing open shelving unit has also been preserved by integrating it into the new built-in wardrobe composition. To create a more cohesive appearance, it has been refinished with a warm oak wood finish, transforming it into a decorative display niche while maintaining its original function.

A new full-height wardrobe is combined with a built-in desk to create a continuous and highly functional storage wall, making better use of the room's geometry. The wardrobe can be developed using IKEA PAX modules as the base system, making the solution easier to build, customize, and adapt while maintaining a clean built-in appearance. The angled wall beside the entrance has also been utilized as a multifunctional storage element, providing an additional wardrobe extension for hanging clothes, bags, and everyday accessories while maximizing an otherwise underused area.

The workspace is positioned beneath the window to benefit from natural daylight while maintaining access to the existing radiator below. A palette of warm off-white finishes, light oak wood, and soft neutral textiles creates a bright, calm, and timeless atmosphere that will remain suitable as T. transitions from her teenage years into adulthood.

Overall, the proposal balances functionality, comfort, and aesthetics, resulting in a bedroom that is easy to organize, easy to maintain, and visually warm without feeling overcrowded.
