Description

The floor is planned with the stairwell and the fireplace as references of motion flows.
Thus, main furniture pieces are placed on a diagonal line formed by these flows.
The furniture comprises of classical and contemporary high quality pieces. A metal beam on the ceiling with linear up-lighting holds chandeliers and spotlights for the lighting of the space.
The space is divided in two by a false-ceiling with linear lighting on the side.
The wooden floor turns to the wall behind the study area and to the ceiling.
The fireplace is a central piece in the design. It is placed next to the column in the main space in order to hide the column. The fireplace is see-through with views to the living room and the study. In the living room there is a large wall of shelves with lighting.
The study features a see-through piece of glass shelves. A small lounge space is places before the study.
The stairwell, an important part of the design, is made of Corten steel. So is the wall of shelves, as well as the sides of some walls. All remaining walls are painted white.
The “wet” spaces (kitchen and bathroom) are placed next to the entrance. The wc features a separate lavatory which is separated by the kitchen with glass. The kitchen and lavatory share a unified corian sink. The kitchen and lavatory have a big glass opening overlooking the main area.
In the area of the entrance, there is a leather bench, a big cloakroom and ingress to the bathroom and kitchen.
