Design Concept & Rationale
1. Design Philosophy & Style
To create a space that seamlessly blends order, simplicity, and the warmth of nature, the Nordic-Boho style was selected as the core design language. The primary objective was to develop an environment that serves not just as a living space, but as a personal sanctuary, evoking a sense of serenity and comfort. To achieve this, a neutral color palette consisting of White, Beige, and Light Wood tones was employed to enhance spatial perception, making the areas appear more expansive, luminous, and inviting.
2. Constraint Management & Spatial Cohesion
A key challenge in this project was maintaining aesthetic continuity in the bathroom due to the fixed existing floor tiling. To address this, a strategy of "Visual Integration" was implemented. By utilizing wall slabs with a textured pattern in a blend of beige and grey tones—closely mirroring the existing floor's color profile—a seamless visual transition between surfaces was established. Furthermore, to bridge the gap between the bathroom and the rest of the residence, wooden and woven (wicker) accessories were integrated. These elements dissolve the boundaries between functional and living areas, ensuring a consistent design flow throughout the home.
3. Recurring Elements & Design Signature
To establish a cohesive visual identity, Biophilic elements and natural textures were strategically repeated across the project. The intentional use of woven textures, indoor greenery, and Warm Lighting serves two purposes: it reinforces the Nordic-Boho aesthetic and creates a rhythmic continuity that guides the inhabitant through the space. This approach ensures that every room contributes to a unified atmosphere of warmth, comfort, and sophisticated simplicity.
