Description

Greetings client,

I have proposed a minimalist, efficient and aesthetic design for the flat, keeping in mind your brief and budget. Taking inspiration from the earthy tones and elements from Japanese style and geometrical patterns from art-deco style, I propose an earthy fusion with a monochromatic colour palette which accentuates every inch of space.

The new entrance opens up to a feature wall with a terracotta finish arch, which defines the space and the entry. A 'welcome' fig palm plant and a console open up to provide a sense of enhanced space. Old Japanese paintings adorn the wall which further stylizes the entrance. The false ceiling of the entrance has suspended MS sections with wooden finish over a rectangular LED, which provides soft indirect light creating a sense of open clean welcoming space for the resident.

The living and kitchen room is separated by a translucent fluted glass partition with a sliding door, a modern take on the Japanese style sliding doors. This divides the area while opens it visually, enhancing the sense of space of the design. The living room has a ZEN corner which provides visual comfort and softness of the space. Bamboo planters and small bonsai tree fill up the corner to make it more relaxing. Green corners and plants are a major driving force for the design which aims to fill up the corners with various indoor plants - Bird of parasite, ZZ plant, Aloe Vera, Monstera, Money plan, Heart of pearl vines, rubber plant. The design aims to be timeless in the usages of natural materials like Jute rattan console, teakwood TV console and a bamboo rug.

Laundry is attached to the kitchen for easy distribution of services and utility value. The kitchen has an island counter which doubles as a dining area.

The bedroom has a feature terracotta finish arch as a headboard with suspended lights. It also consists of a bookshelf, seating area and study corner for the resident for work and comfort. The washroom has a bathtub/shower with a WC and bidet.

The balcony is designed to have creepers on the parapet with hanging plants and wicker lamplight from the top.

Overall, the design ties up with common textures and geometry while making every inch of space usable. Do contact me if you have any further doubts! Hope you enjoy this makeover!
