Outdoor - Garden
The design concept focuses on creating a welcoming, inclusive, and sustainable public garden while preserving the site's existing natural character.
The project begins with a redesigned entrance that is more inviting and clearly defines the main access to the park. From the entrance, a network of pedestrian pathways organizes the space into different functional zones, making circulation intuitive and fully accessible for visitors of all ages and abilities.
A dedicated children's playground is positioned in a safe and easily accessible location, while shaded pergolas and comfortable seating areas provide relaxing spaces for adults and elderly visitors. These gathering areas encourage social interaction while maintaining a quiet and pleasant atmosphere.
One of the main priorities of the design was to preserve as many of the existing mature trees as possible, maintaining the site's rich green canopy and natural identity. The existing vegetation is complemented with new flower beds and Mediterranean planting to enhance biodiversity, seasonal color, and the overall landscape experience.
To respect the historic context of the site, the material palette consists of natural elements such as terracotta paving, timber, and stone. Terracotta pathways establish a warm visual connection with the surrounding architecture, while wood and natural rock elements reinforce the park's organic and timeless character.
