Description

This proposal aspired to meet all requirements by fulfilling the need of space and comfort. Starting with the basement floor, we chose to place a garage for 2 cars with the possibility of adding another 2 but the additional ones need to be removed in order for the first 2 to exit the garage. The width of the garage is pretty small so this is the only way for cars to circulate accordingly so that they can have a practicable tire/wheel radius for taking the curve. We chose to place the Gym on the basement taking into consideration that it has natural lighting and is easy accessible. It would be a possibility to create there a rentable gym/workshop space if the space is not continously used by the main owner, so this place can be common for the other residents or not, but there is also this possibility available. On the ground floor we reduced the hallways and switched the dimensions of the apartments gaining a master bedroom with own bathroom and another bedroom that could be used for a kid maybe. We recommend on this level not very expensive furnishings, so we proposed a light flooring and would chose furniture from ikea , giving the apartments a scandinavian look if they ought to be furnished. It is likeable for most possible tenants and given the size of the apartments, a very expensive furniture would not be suited. On the first floor we gained 4 bedrooms and a large hobby space that could be divided in study & lounge or work together as an entire space , this space also represents the entrance in the first floor so it could be arranged pretty custom, making it an unique space given the fact that this is also a private space of the house where maybe only few selected guests enter. We have carefully taken into consideration the existing balconies so that maybe the bedrooms of the kids do have a common balocny , while the elders may have a private terrace. We took into consideration a link between laundry and terrace if it would be helpful for draining /refreshing clothes. If there are too many bedrooms , 3 of them can always become 2 bigger ones.
On the second floor the main points were the 2 different entrance views so even if the near elevator area will always be a traveled space , we chose to take advantage of it and turn it into a dining area. Around the walls are hidden slosests so there is plenty of storage space when you actually enter the house to leave the coat/shoes etc. The kitchen is near the entrance so that you don't have to carry groceries too much around. It can be enclosed or opened. We imagined a glass partiotion that would accentuate the dining viewed from the kitchen. The kitchen itself is spacious enough to be used on a daily basis as dining too if necessary. The Living room has been placed in the most " quiet" place so that people won't always walk in front of the T.V. to get to another room. The ladder to the mezanine has been replaced strategically , leaving just enough space under it to gen from hallway to the living room directly . Behind it there starts a large library that divided a kind of hidden study room or guest room.It is in the proximity of the mezanine because it continues upstairs with a open reading space & lounge- retreated from the rest of the house but close enough to hear when dinner is served. We enlargened the mezanine due to practical and aesthetical reasons so that even the places where the slope is lower can be used for storage, giving it another sense of size and space.
