Description

Greetings to contest holder, enjoy your requests...

For this contest I decide to present two different options, both trying to answer the task of really complex roof structure, rich in overall volume but lack in usable space. For both options I focused on existing facades, specially on window positioning and volume of half-circled wall near the stairs. What I try is to balance the rhythm and to add upgrades that will suite what is already there...

So, first option is kind a designed one, it tries to give this space some new atmosphere, modern look and elegance. Roof surface is smooth, completely covered with wood on a four pitched construction. Existing wall is pushed little bit, and 30 degrees fall angle stayed as it was, but now allowing for far more space underneath. This option experiment with windows witch don't need to be exactly as presented... simplicity can be easily achieved

Second option seek for more traditional approach. This time i used two pitched roof, which allows open gables for potential windows. Light comes in to the middle of space through smaller roof openings and follows the line of windows underneath. Look is much similar to existing one, fall is again 30 degrees, but amount of given space is multiple times bigger then it is now. Because of wide construction, I import two wooden columns at half the range, but this will not interrupt the inner space.

Further research request question of rooms that will be in attic space, their form and function, so take this options as non-strictly versions, and possible for transformations as function will allow... hope You like the project, and appreciated your opinion...
