Description

MY_SWEET_HOME A detail look on the brief and attached photos of current situation, leaded to the follow conclusions: 1. The room has an oblong shape. 2. The ceiling is a very strong and interesting part of the interior space. 3. The floor has to remain as it is. 4. Some or all the existing furnitures can be used in the new arrangement. 5. Room lighting is not sufficient. PROPOSAL In order to take advantage of the oblong room’s shape, most of the furnitures were set along the two long wall sides, leaving the space in between free to move and looking wider. Since it is a shared house, the room should give the ability to spend many hours in it for sleeping, working or just relaxing. The proposal attempts to combine these three needs, providing a bedroom, a studio area and a small living room in just 15 sq.m. So the small couch is set in front of the door, welcoming the user or the visitors to the room. The wardrobe is used as a space divider between the living room and the bedroom. On the opposite wall the working space is set and next to it the TV where it should be by brief and which can be seen both sitting from the couch or bed. Finally, on the plan view were made some additions including a drawer chest in similar style of the existing furnitures, a threefold screen divider close to the wardrobe, a coffee table and some spot lamps. COLORS The dark brown color of the floor and the white plaster decoration of the ceiling indicates to use this color range, in order to give a more unified character in the room. Some contrast color details though, for example by the fabrics, wallpaper or paintings, makes the space much more interesting and with a strong personality.
