housing - small-apt
Thinking about how should be the apartment of a single man who has a son,who likes the natural light and open space, we create a completely new and flexible apartment. We hope you really love it as we do!!! The kitchen and the laundry room now are separated by part of the new masterbathroom. To avoid to loose the entry of natural light in the kitchen, we createa window which also serves as protection from odors while someone is cooking. There’s an island with the stove and the vent (which is a retractable downdraftsystem), it also serves as an auxiliar dining table. Connected with the islandthere’s the dining table, with this we create an integrated environment thatallow you to have a meeting with many people. There´re two livings, one is connected with the dining room and the terrace, and the other one is connected with the second bedroom (the office) which could be totally/partially closed or open. Between this spaces we find a cabinet and a TV (which is hanging from a pipe so you and your guests could see TV from any of those livings). In the lounge room there’s a sofa bed where thenanny or other people can sleep sometimes. We propose to close the terrace with glass and create a BBQ zone with twochairs to enjoy the view. The second bedroom has two purposes: 1. It’s your office (has a desk, shelves, storage space) and 2. When your son go to visit, you can get down the bed(which is hidden in a closet: storage space) so immediately it becomes in thesecond bedroom (could be closed by a sliding door). The social bath now don’thave shower, so your new bath is much bigger. Inside the shower of your newbath we propose a bench which is very helpful.
In the master bedroom you have space for a big bed and a comfortable chair tosee TV or read. There’s a closet to have your clothes and shoes in order. Every door in the apartment (and some walls) were changed for sliding doors(except the main door), with this we allow the entry of a lot of natural light andventilation (if there are minimun two Windows opened). We propose big photos of urban landscapes (or similar art) to decorate some walls of the flat, with this final touch we reinforces the idea that is the apartment of a single modern man who likes to live everyday at the top.
