Description

I design this apartment based on my living experience on my apartment. My apartment is more or less the same size. So I was thinking of using 'smart' furniture to save some space. But it did not work. Because it was not practical. It takes effort to 'transform' the furniture + it is not very durable.

So the best solution is to use modern design + minimalist in terms of how many furniture and stuff in the apartment. So I found out that maximize the space given with regular design for the chair/ sofa is the best. For example, in front of sofa bed is not coffee table. So it will be easy to transform from sofa to bed. We use side table on each side of L shape sofa bed and armchair. Next, I try to use cooker hood as storage for spice and good looking kitchen accessories.

For kitchen itself, I use a lot of built in kitchen appliances to make sure the room has the modern and minimalist look that I'm looking for.

Air conditioning units are hidden. One is above the built in refrigerator and oven. Another is after the main bedroom corridor. The placement is considering the 'water drainage'. It must be connected to bathroom for easy to maintain and also easy installation/ connection to existing drainage. Another reason is to avoid direct contact between the AC air flow with the users (healthy reason).

The main attraction for main bedroom is the concept of the WIC. It can be opened and closed with textured glass sliding door. It gives different feel to the main bedroom. It become more luxurious when it is opened. And give more welcoming or understated feeling when it is closed.
