housing - small-apt
According to the description of the client the aim of the project proposal was to open the space to facilitate interaction among users, the collection of books and work stations.
Rooms were opened as much as possible in order to create a flexible space were different settings are allowed. Referring to the feasibility plan, the access as well as the mobility plan were changed: a new greater entrance was created to facilitate information and support and to identify the access to the main areas. Also the outdoor path that connects the three buildings was changed and a corten steel structure was included to link spaces and to allow covered activities in the courts.
According to the hypothesis of original configuration and fronts of the main buildings the project tried to reconfigure accesses and windows with the use of both modern and traditional systems as ferrofinestra steel windows.
To divide different areas (public and management or facilities) glass walls were included to mantain permeable volumes. The project feature oak wood finishings, a dark grey in the lobby and service areas, smooth concrete flooring, woven vinyl flooring, for an essential, contemporary image. The narrative is completed by the furnishings, true protagonists of the concept: custom fixtures in wood, grey finishings, coloured metal, black leather attuned to the white and black colors of seats.
