living area renewal in milan downtown

Briefing

We (2 adults, son 15 and daughter 12) are living in this flat since 7 years and we do need to go to a renewal for a better space use in particular for the living/dining room with lot of unused space. We would like to keep our big table and (if it makes sense, otherwise we can move) the old chest of drawers. We like to have friends for dinner and for a coffee so sometimes we have 15-20 people. We need a new sofa area with several places to sit and where to stay (and lay) in the evening in front of our fireplace which is the focus of the room. We need room enough to store books and tablewares/ tableclothes,.... We like wood, warm colours as you can see form the pictures (you can get a good idea of the mood we like: warm and not formal). The flat is located in a typical 1907 house in Milan.
