PATIO’S HOUSE IN INDIA

Our proposal is the use of patios as the linchpin of the architectural project, which organize, distribute and complement the interior spaces of the house. Ancient tradition that throughout history has taught us that the best way to deal with hot weather in the most efficient manner within resource optimization.

The architectural design starts of a central courtyard as the linchpin, which organizes the internal distribution of the plant. It also has the function of being a space of connection that allow the user if is needed, to increase the social area for a specific event. They could melt the Drawing Room with patio and Lounge tripling the social area. Or failing the room with the patio for a family reunion.

The ground floor is complemented by a front and a back yard with a fountain, this is the visible edge of the house.

The plant is divided into three sections that are organized by the hall: the social area (drawing room and foyer), the intermediate area (kitchen and dining room) and private area of the house (two bedrooms with bath room and lounge).

In the same entrance hall the stairs and elevator are located, that allows the scroll vertically through the house without crossing the social or private space.

As a complement, the project has a service core that works vertically with its own stairs, where service personnel can work efficiently with complete independence from the rest of the habitants of the house. The ground floor has the kitchen pantry, in the first level a pantry and finally on the third level, laundry, patio and service room with bathroom.

On the first level there are two bedrooms with private bath room, the family room and master bedroom with private bath room, walk in closet and a terrace. On the back has a terrace that opens their views fully into the central courtyard and garden of the house.

At the second level, are located the office, gym and a large terrace with sundeck and exists the possibility of installing a Jacuzzi. The program is completed with the laundry area and services with independent access.

As construction system arises the use of bays composed by columns that start in the central courtyard having small gaps, which facilitates the construction system and optimizes the structure cost of the house.

The project starts with a criterion of sustainability, it seeks the use of passive energy such as natural air circulation, walls that create shadows, half-buried buildings to reduce the temperature so the air conditioning is not necessary in most enclosures.
