Description

The concept for the design is, maximizing space by the use of furniture. By using both sides of the cupboard (two ways), the furniture act as a wall and acts as storage at the same time. Demarcate one area to another.

From the brief, client suggests that the position of the windows cannot be changed, the bathroom needs a window and the position of the kitchen is favored. By that parameter, the plan didn't changed much from the original, just a minor modification, required to meet the clients idea/needs.

The pantry, living and work area actually connected, but the living and work area are demarcated by a combination of folding door (sandblasted glass) and a book rack-door (that can be swiveled). This book rack has two ways (openings) that served living and work area, so that when it's closed, the rack can still served living and work area.

This principle applies also in entrance area, when the coat hanger furniture acts as a wall that demarcate entrance and guest toilet, also the coat hanger (furniture) act as wastafel -and mirror- for the guest toilet. Hope the idea/design meets the clients' need/requirement.

Best,

Ciao :)
