Description

There were two main goals in this design concept. First, to make maximum, functional use of the whole terrace roof area. This was done through creating a main seating zone in the middle of the roof terrace, surrounding it with other complementary areas. Those areas where like; the outdoor kitchen and dining area, the fire pit area, the uncovered built in wall seating area, and the swing seating area. Every seating zone has a unique feel to it due to its furniture and placement in the roof terrace.

In addition, the main area was reinforced through a unique floor pattern with different color than the rest of the terrace, as well as being placed under a unique wooden pergola.
When designing the pergola, the concrete columns in the center of the terrace were used as the pergola’s structure and were covered with wood as well as the pergola roof.

The other goal is the overall feel and style of the terrace design. Suitable colors and, material finishes were used in order to complement the villa design, as well as its surrounding. The usage of various sizes of clay plant pots was to redirect and reinforce the different seating areas, as well as giving the design a Mediterranean feel to the place. The usage of raised garden beds surrounding the roof were to be filled with unique plant pots in order to give the place a garden feel and look to it, reinforcing the nature surrounding.
