Project description

Dear Client,

Thank you for the opportunity to take part in your competition. Designing a home that can adapt and grow with your family was truly enjoyable.

In this renovation, existing walls were preserved wherever possible to support the budget. One of the key moves was relocating the kitchen, which allowed natural light to reach deeper into the apartment and transformed the oversized entrance area into a more functional and welcoming space.

The living area was planned as a flexible core: an open layout connected to the kitchen and the dining zone, where a rotating TV and bioethanol fireplace serve multiple angles of use. An extendable dining table, integrated storage solutions, including discreet fold-out desk options, support changing daily life needs.

The master bedroom is positioned on the brighter, more open side of the apartment, while the child’s room is sized and shaped for a potential future split into two equal, functional rooms. The split room option, along with the closed version of the kitchen via transparent or translucent glass sliding panels, is shown in the second plan. There, different smart-working alternatives are also explored to suit varying work-from-home needs and a second bathroom option with a separate bidet function is proposed.

Both bathrooms are located very close to the existing shaft: one easily accessible for guests and connected to the laundry function, and another more private one with a bathtub. A hidden laundry corner and overhead cabinets are all integrated into the layout with attention to functionality and ease of use.

The overall aim was to create a bright, flexible, and comfortable home that fits your present and can adapt to your future. I hope this proposal responds well to your needs.
