Residential - Apartment
Dear client, this preliminary project was developed taking into account the list of requested needs. I think it's appropriate to make some specifications:
Bathroom: In order to build the two bathrooms, it was necessary to demolish the existing wall near the bedroom and extend it toward that area.
You should check if the building has an "underfloor" system, which would allow the new toilet's drainpipe to be run to the main pipe. If not, the other option is to install wall-hung toilets and run the drainpipe through the wall to that pipe. Sliding doors were installed at the entrance to the bathrooms to reduce their footprint.
Laundry: The laundry area was placed in the balcony area so that clothes could be hung there and separated from the kitchen area.
Kitchen: It is separated from the living room by a sliding door (a shed-style door) so that it can be isolated or integrated into the living room when desired. Two counters facing each other were placed in the first half of the space, leaving the rest to create a storage room. By extending one of the counters, a breakfast nook could be built. It is also recommended to replace the folding French door that opens onto the balcony with sliding French doors within the existing frame, thus creating more space in the kitchen.
Smart-working: This space is built close to the entrance, with the possibility of isolating it when necessary using two sliding doors.
Children's bedroom: Two bedrooms are perfectly arranged, using the existing frame and opening, and two short V-shaped windows are set back for ventilation. An overhead storage area is built over the hallway that divides these bedrooms.
This makes excellent use of the space and meets all needs.
