Project description

This interior is conceived as a calm, contemporary living space where warmth and restraint are carefully balanced through material contrast and spatial clarity.
The layout follows an open-plan concept, seamlessly connecting the kitchen, dining, and living zones into a single, fluid environment. The organization is highly rational: the kitchen occupies the more enclosed corner, transitioning into a compact dining area, and then opening fully into a generous living space oriented toward the feature wall and natural light source.
The living room is defined by a strong horizontal composition. A deep blue textured accent wall anchors the space, integrating a linear fireplace and a large-format media surface into a single architectural element. This wall acts as both a visual focal point and a spatial stabilizer, grounding the otherwise light and neutral palette.
Furniture placement reinforces intimacy within openness. A U-shaped sofa configuration creates a central gathering zone, enclosing the coffee table and rug to establish a clear “room within a room.” The arrangement encourages conversation while maintaining direct visual connection to the fireplace and exterior openings.
Materiality plays a key role in achieving the atmosphere. Light wooden flooring runs continuously throughout the space, enhancing visual continuity and warmth. This is contrasted by soft, neutral upholstery and subtle textile layering—curtains, rug, and cushions—which add depth without visual noise. The dark accent wall introduces a controlled contrast, preventing the interior from becoming overly monotone.
Lighting is handled with restraint and precision. A sculptural pendant fixture is centrally positioned, emphasizing the living zone, while the fireplace introduces a dynamic, ambient glow at eye level. Natural light is diffused through full-height curtains, softening shadows and enhancing the tactile quality of materials.
Overall, the design expresses a contemporary minimalist approach enriched with warm, livable elements—where geometry, material contrast, and spatial zoning work together to create a balanced and inviting interior.
